A world leading manufacturer of off highway diesel engines are currently looking for an Indirect Buyer to join the team at their state of the art research and development site in Peterborough. This exciting position will be a part of the electrification project supporting the business with the change in some of their products as part of the ongoing need for electrification. The position is a 12 month contract with a potential for the position to be move to a permanent role to continue the support within the team. The position is paying GBP22.37 PAYE, GBP25.62 (rolled up holiday) and GBP30.05 Umbrella. The standard working hours are Monday to Thursday 08:30 til 16:45 and Friday 08:30 til 16:15. The successful candidate will be able to work hybrid with an expectation of 3 days on site a week. The role As an Indirect Buyer no one day is the same. You will be responsible for liaising with business unit leadership and stakeholders. Supporting the delivery of the facilities business objectives while maintaining cost efficient and high: quality supply base. Typical responsibilities include: Operating and maintaining the indirect purchasing functions, to meet the defined response time, cost, quality and lean targets Act as a liaison with corresponding category and supply chain professionals Reporting directly to the regional procurement manager and be accountable for implementing strategies at facility level Supplier development : Identify performance gaps within the supple base specific to the business unit and develop improvement plans Sourcing : Leading the selection process and commercial negotiation of indirect services and materials Purchase order management : Providing counsel to requester of the most appropriate transnational platform Skills/Qualification German Speaker (communication with the site in Germany is key to this role) Indirect purchasing experience Procurement experience (ideally 3:4 years) Certification in Purchasing Knowledge.
