Job Description: Assists with planning and carrying out activities for residents, coordinating volunteer program, creating and monitoring media schedule for IL resident activities and providing administrative support to IL team. Works cooperatively with residents, volunteers, and family members. This position is also responsible for working and maintaining media equipment during presentations and performances in the building. **Hours are Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM with occasional evening and weekend hours depending on activity/planned events.** Job Duties : Responsible for creating, monitoring and maintaining media schedules for the Independent Living residents. These duties may go into occasional evening hours when recording of entertainment is necessary. Assists with planning monthly calendar of activities and events. Set up and assist with planned activities. Knowledge of IT equipment, recording equipment and computers is required, training will be provided. Will assist in implementing, monitoring and troubleshooting media projects across the campus. Will provide administrative and clerical support to Independent Living team as necessary. Will be responsible for covering receptionist breaks as well as holiday coverage when needed. Will assist in resident activities. Will help navigate new resident move in to acclimate well to the building. Will conduct tours and provide guidance in dining, work order system as well as other resident processes. This position requires excellent communication and teamwork skills and a high level of customer service. A love for the senior population and helping others. Must be detail oriented and excel in fast paced and high-pressure environments. Any and all other duties as assigned by Management as deemed appropriate. Skills/Qualifications : Must have a demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook and Excel) and be able to learn new applications. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, residents, residents’ families, and the general public. Ability to solve practical problems. well-developed interpersonal skills. Must have the ability to resolve conflict involving residents, family and staff members. Effective communication skills. Must demonstrate understanding and ability to work with older adults in a Life Plan Community. Must possess compassion, understanding, patience, and tact in dealing with residents, families, and work effectively with staff. Must demonstrate an attitude of service to residents, family members, staff, and people from the community. Must demonstrate ability to make decisions and provide leadership in helping residents assess their needs and how to best meet them. Must demonstrate ability in public speaking skills. Due to the confidential nature of information concerning residents, must understand and abide by Epworth Villa’s confidentiality policy set forth in the Employee Handbook. Education and/or Experience : High School Diploma/GED. Previous experience working with older populations. Related experience with media equipment. Must be proficient in Microsoft office. Must have phone skills. Must be able to prioritize and have good organizational skills. Must be fluent in English, both written and spoken. Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations : Must maintain CPR and First Aid certification. Maintain valid Oklahoma driver’s license. Powered by JazzHR
