If you have what it takes to become part of the Vistra family and would like to start a promising career with a global leader, take a look at the exciting employment opportunities that are currently available and apply online.Job SummaryJob DescriptionPRODUCTION TECHNICIAN - ELECTRICIANKey Roles & Responsibilities: Directly or through others, the incumbent has ultimate accountability for each area of the corporation:Responsible for the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of a Gas Fired Power Plant. This includes water treatment systems, circulating water systems, condensate/feedwater systems, heat recovery steam generator systems, turbine systems, gas turbine systems, generator systems, control systems, electrical systems, and various other plant systems. Inspects, repairs, and maintains various types of plant mechanical, hydraulic and steam related equipment. This includes pumps, boilers, turbines, valves, compressors, couplings, safety valves, fans, heat exchangers, and various other devices. Is required to show initiative in his/her area of responsibility. Candidate will be assigned electrician duties on a normal basis, so, Electrician experience or strong electrical background will be requiredDirectly or through others, the incumbent will:Will be required to complete per Multi Skill RequirementsAuxiliary Plant Operator (APO) qualificationWater Plant Operator qualificationElectrical qualificationControl Room Operator qualificationWill, or can be assigned, work shift work and overtime to ensure plant reliabilityEstimates starting time for idle generation units and follows prescribed startup procedures to bring units on line at a specified time.Proficiently operates the PC-based control systems as the Inside Operator in the Steam Plant.Changes the loading of turbine/generators as required from the control systems.Reads meters and records data at specified intervals in appropriate logs and computers.Immediately reports malfunctioning equipment of abnormal meter readings/equipment performance to the supervisor and completes the appropriate records.Performs troubleshooting and documentation and assists in the resolution of problems discovered during the shift.Maintains plant operating history through timely completion of plant logs and required documentation.Makes decisions and recommends appropriate repair techniques to the senior operator or supervisor.Provides specialized accurate written documentation of repairs made and all appropriate measurements/readings/conditions through reports or MAXIMO work orders.Preferred Understands basic (1) AC/DC Circuit Theory, (2) Digital and Analog Circuit Theory, (3) Power Plant Cycle Theory, and (4) Mechanics.Develops and implements plant operating procedures. Understands the operational relationships of mechanical equipment to plant systems.Perform substation and transformer maintenance, protective relays, low / medium voltage breaker repair, arc flash analysis and recognition, electrical and workplace safety.Properly conducts low, medium and high voltage switching, clearing and grounding activities for all plant auxiliary equipment.Candidate must possess a strong Electrical backgroundControls system voltages and frequencies as requested by dispatcher.All other duties as assigned.Education, Experience, & Skill RequirementsHigh School education or GED equivalent with four years related experience in a related industry or 2 years related experience and a 2 years Associates Degree in Power/Industrial Technology.Job FamilyPlant OperationsCompanyLuminant Generation Company LLCLocationsJacksonville, TexasTexasWe are a company of people committed to: Exceeding Customer Expectations, Great People, Teamwork, Competitive Spirit and Effective Communication.
