Location: Home Office, Chicago Reports to: Head of People & Talent Position Summary: The Director - Field Human Resources provides HR leadership to the US Operations function. They will be a key business partner to senior leadership in Field Operations, as well as provide HR leadership across Puttshack venues. The HR Director will lead and provide strategic guidance and technical direction to a team of Regional HR Business Partners. Reporting directly to the Head of People & Talent, the HRD-Field will play a critical role in molding our organizational culture, fostering talent growth, and ensuring that HR practices seamlessly align with our strategic goals. This is a hybrid role; three days from our Home Office, located in Chicago. Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to: Partner with the COO and U.S. Operations Leadership to determine people priorities in line with the U.S. business plan. Leads team to further develop and execute strategies. Provide leadership, supervise, train, and evaluate HRBP team, creating a supportive and collaborative team environment that embodies Puttshack core values. Leads/contributes to the design and implementation of cross-functional projects and programs to deliver high-impact strategic initiatives. Design, implement, and administer HR policies and procedures. Ensure that HR Processes are developed and performed in compliance with all legal and organizational requirements, standards, and procedures. Partner with internal General Counsel to review progress against compliance standards . Counsel associates and leadership on associate relations issues and problems, ensuring that disciplinary actions and terminations are carried out legally and consistently, while also fostering a positive and supportive team member environment. Partner with key stakeholders on design and implementation of talent review/succession planning to identify and prepare future leaders within the organization. Play a critical role in establishing HR metrics/goals that measure the effectiveness of people initiatives, performance, and development. Works collaboratively with Talent Acquisition partners to ensure positions are filled with qualified and diverse candidates in a timely manner; work with hiring managers to ensure that those hired are effectively onboarded into the organization. Partners to work through associate relations issues associated with performance, leave, business integrity, terminations, or other associate relations matters. Work closely with operations, HRBP's and Legal to handle discipline and termination of associates in accordance with company policy. Maintain and expand knowledge and understanding of existing and proposed federal and state laws/regulations affecting human resource management. Identify trends that could affect organizational objectives and/or operational resources. Interpret appropriate laws and policies and advise management and associates accordingly. Actively participates in the HR Leadership Team and contributes to the broader HR People priorities and objectives. Other projects or duties as assigned. Required Skills and Experience: Bachelor's degree in human resource, Business Administration, or related field; and/or equivalent experience. Minimum 10 years of previous related work experience required; with 4-6 years of experience managing a team. Proven experience as an HR leader managing a team of 3-5 with a focus on field operations in hospitality, restaurant, or retail. Knowledge of HR/labor laws, proven ability to handle confidential information and familiar with national and local legislation with experience in employee relations and HR compliance. Able to seamlessly navigate between the big picture and the details, hands on and strategic. Experience in a role requiring independent decision-making and management of conflicting priorities in a fast-paced environment. Approachable and responsive resource able to connect and communicate effectively with associates at all levels. Ability to prepare and present information to senior leadership, vendors, and management. Proficiency in MS Office Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point Excellent leadership, management, and conflict resolution skills Outstanding collaboration and project management skills Ability to travel up to 40% to various locations to support business needs. This position must pass a post-offer background check. Preferred Skills and Experience: SHRM/PHR/SPHR Certification is highly preferred. Experience with ADP Human Capital Management system. Physical Requirements: Physical activities on a continuous basis, sit at desk for a long period of time; frequent use of telephone/video conferencing and write or use a keyboard to communicate through written means. Some walking and lifting, up to 25 lbs. may be required. The noise level in the work environment is typically low to moderate.
