Job Title: HR Generalist Department: Human Resources Reports To: Director of HR Rate of Pay: $20-22.00/hour Shift: Monday through Friday 8:30 am - 5:00 pm, evenings & weekends required for employee events. FLSA Status: Non-Exempt/Hourly SUMMARY Project a confident, positive, and professional image for Sundance as the HR Generalist is often the first person that applicants meet in person and/or over the phone. Support the Human Resources department by administering training initiatives and the day to day operations of HR including but not limited to the recruiting process, new hire on-boarding, records retention, employee recognition, and projects. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Share the story of Sundance with employees and applicants. Accurately answer basic questions regarding job openings, processes, benefits and culture. Contribute to a welcoming environment for employees and applicants. Assist in the refinement of foundational tools and training to effectively support all aspects of the employment cycle. Assist in onboarding processes including new hire orientations and nametag orders. Audit New Hire Paperwork. Verify eligibility to work in the U.S. identification and execute E-Verify for New Hires. Conduct I-9 Paperwork Sessions for New Hires. Distribute pay checks and communications in the absence of the Payroll & Benefits Specialist. Support the distribution of seasonal benefits. Coordinate on-going employee recognition programs: Sundollars, Employee of the Month, Supervisor of the Month, Manager of the Month, and Years of Service. Administer carpool incentive program and track carpooling statistics. Assist with planning, promoting, and executing employee traditions (ie Canyon Clean Up, Recycled Art Project, Parties, Pumpkin Carving Contest, etc.) and special events. Support the recruiting process by scheduling interviews, conducting entry level interviews, and documenting to standard. Assist with updating policies, procedures, job descriptions, job postings, training materials,etc. Assist with Workers Compensation and ADA paperwork as needed. Work closely with the HR team to determine projects to provide insight or propel the department forward. DISCLAIMER This is a general description of this job. QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE One - two years Human Resources experience or a bachelor's Degree from a college or university in Human Resources, Behavioral Organization, or Psychology; or equivalent combination of education and experience. TECHNICAL/COMPUTER SKILLS Must type a minimum of 40-50 words per minute. Must be proficient in MS Word, Powerpoint, Excel, Outlook, and internet navigation. Experience with ATS OR HRIS desired. LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. REASONING ABILITY Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Employee works in an office with several other employees. Must work well in an environment with continuous flows of clients entering and leaving the office.
