Do you have experience of providing support to vulnerable people either in a volunteering or professional role? Do you understand what Housing Support looks like for those people who are vulnerable and may have complex needs? Do you understand the benefits of delivering a flexible outcome focused and personalised support service, whilst supporting people to help themselves? Do you have thorough and up to date knowledge of welfare benefits for vulnerable people? Are you up to date of the health and safety issues that relate to vulnerable people? If so, this role is perfect for you! Here at Peabody, we have an opportunity for a Housing Support Worker (Supported Housing) on a Permanent basis at one of Islington Supported Housing Schemes. A bit about the role: As a Housing Support Worker (Supported Housing), you will support and enable vulnerable people to sustain a tenancy living within the community through providing practical and emotional support to encourage tenants to take an active part in the community. Some of the key results for the role include: Provide and offer support to an individual tenant. Promote the integration of the tenant into the local community and provide opportunities by which they will be enabled to develop skills and have access to the widest possible range of experiences. Ensure that the tenants needs are met by liaising with other organisations providing access to community-based services and resources. Ensure that the participation by the tenant in the management of all household tasks, through teaching and practical support.
