Here’s what you will do: Responsible for cleaning and servicing assigned areas. Ability to perform routine, repetitive tasks on a continuous basis as assigned by the Housekeeping Director or Linen Aide. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF POSITION :Sort items to be launderedLoad items into washer and engage washing machineStart machine that automatically washes and rinses itemsLift clean, wet items from washer and place them into laundry carts, then into dryersStart dryers for measured time cyclesFold and sort dried items by resident name, ID number or room numberPlace resident's clothing on clothes hangersFold and place items in appropriate storage bin or sorterDeliver clean clothing to residents’ roomsSort and count items to verify quantities of linens, towels, washcloths, clothing protectors, etc.Soak contaminated items in neutralizer solution to precondition items for washingClean and disinfect resident rooms, dining areas, common areas, and public restroomsLight office cleaning Maintain cleanliness of hallways and entry waysTrash removal EDUCATION/REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily.The requirements listed above are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
