Come join Easterseals in a awesome opportunity as our Wrangler! This individual will be involved in the process of taming, controlling and handling of horses, d aily horse cares, saddling and maintenance. This individual will also be responsible for t aking client riders out on rides, and visiting/mingling with guests, as appropriate. Basic maintenance of stables and grounds keeping as well. This is a flexible position! Looking currently to staff a team member on our Respite weekends, (twice monthly), and Saturday Summer Camp, (June-August), for our clients horse rides. Principle Accountabilities: Provide standard level of care to horses. Facilitate pony rides for varying programs and clients. Provide safe and engaging environment for campers to interact with and ride horses. Ability to adapt pony rides to meet specific needs of individual clients. Responsible for communicating any concerns to the Assistant Camp Director. Responsible for cleanliness and maintaining horse barn and supplies. Ability to work with team members. Ability to work a flexible schedule and assist with agency events that host pony rides. Work cooperatively with team members and volunteers in adapting horse related activities to meet the needs of participants. Understand and comply with all policies and procedures. Carry out safety rules and policies with regard to all activities. Ability to represent Easter Seals values of Excellence, Respect, Integrity, Independence, Customer Focus, and Shared Purpose. Excellence: Provide a high quality of customer service to the parents and caregivers, campers and fellow team members . Requirements: High school diploma or equivalency Minimum age of 18. Experience with horses required. Desire to work with people with disabilities. Ability to work within a team structure, accepting and providing coaching and guidance. Ability to identify and respond to environmental and other hazards related to an activity; to model and enforce appropriate safety and emergency procedures. Ability to assess appropriate and safe behavior and provide positive behavior support when needed. Ability to bend, stoop, twist and lift Ability transfer or move a minimum of 80 pounds
