About Rocky Mountain Prep Rocky Mountain Prep is a growing network of innovative public charter schools, serving students in pre-kindergarten through fifth grade in the Greater Denver Area. Rocky Mountain Prep (RMP) opened its first school in 2012 with 130 students and has grown to four schools, working with over 1,800 scholars across two districts. In the school year 2023-2024, we will grow to 12 schools serving over 5,000 students in grades PK-12th. During the 2023-2024 school year, RMP is driving after five big goals: Going Green on the Colorado School Performance Framework 90% Student Persistence 95% Average Daily Attendance Fully Enrolled by October Count Academics: PreK Students demonstrate one year of growth Kinder through 2nd Grade Students grow 1.25 years in ELA and Math 40% of 3rd through 5th-grade students meet their Millionaire Goal (one million words read) 40% of 6th through 8th grade students meet their millionaire goal (two million words read) High school: 100% College Acceptance Each member of the organization plays a part in achieving these goals. School-based staff members will work towards 2 or 3 metrics that are aligned to both their roles AND the Big 5. These metrics vary by position and are subject to change. As an Assistant Principal of Instruction, you will be held accountable for two academic goals and one operational goal (ie attendance or persistence). Role Mission: Assistant Principals of Instruction (APIs) are instructional leaders who manage, coach, and develop the teachers at their school. APIs will monitor academic progress to ensure students are accessing appropriate grade-level content and provide teachers with the proper support and professional development they need to become strong educators. In this role, you will: Establish and execute school-wide restorative justice systems and routines in order to create a safe, purposeful, and inclusive school environment. Communicate regularly and often with families to both solicit input and share student social and academic progress, while empowering teachers to do the same. Manage campus culture, behavioral MTSS, and discipline systems and support intervention plan to support students with social and emotional needs. Manage the Dean of Students, including ongoing coaching and development Oversee and run the campus culture system. Run daily lunch reflection Maintain the Data Dashboard Oversee the consistent implementation of Title 9 investigations, mediations, and crisis response as necessary. Lead grade-level teams and teachers to develop and implement successful behavior plans. Collaborate with Assistant Principals of Instruction to support coaching on school-wide culture to ensure that classrooms are safe and conducive to learning. Meet regularly with Grade Level Lead/Chair(s) to further develop his or her capacity to lead a positive and proactive grade‐level team. Collaborate with school leaders to design and implement excellent professional development. Ensure that students are safe and maximize learning time by always modeling the upholding school-wide behavioral and academic expectations and coaching other staff to do the same. Provide daily culture updates during leadership and whole school huddles each morning. Serve as a key member of the campus-based Leadership Team. Assist with student recruitment. Lead instructional staff to achieve measurable and ambitious results that improve their teaching quickly and measurably by conducting daily observations, real-time coaching, data analysis, and mid-year and end-of-year effective evaluations. Supervise the implementation of RMP curricula and assessments to meet our “Big Five” academic goals. Build and maintain a cooperative working relationship with students and families built on trust, understanding, and respect for the communities in which they identify. Support a school-wide culture that fosters a productive and enthusiastic learning environment. Participate in weekly manager check-ins, grade level meetings, before and after school duties, and school-wide meetings and functions. Participate in summer and year-long school-based professional development sessions. Perform other duties, as required. Qualifications Required Bachelor’s degree required At least 3 years of full-time teaching experience At least 2 years of full-time teacher leadership or administrative experience Proven track record of achieving success in the K-12 setting Be able to provide an official transcript demonstrating graduation from an undergraduate institution Pass a background check Demonstrate eligibility to work in the United States Preferred Master’s degree Experience managing/coaching others Salary The salary range for this position is from $85,000 to $120,000 and is commensurate with skills and experience. This role is also eligible for a performance bonus of up to 10% based on individual and organizational performance and goal attainment.
