Additional Information About the Role Our unit is vital to the flow of patients needing to be admitted from ED, CCU, admitting, procedure areas and other hospital units, and from outside hospitals. Most of our patient populations are those diagnosed with myocardial infarction requiring cardiac catheterization, congestive heart failure, heart arrhythmias, and pulmonary hypertension. One of the advantages working on 9200/10200 is being able to take care of a vast variety of cardiovascular and medical conditions therefore exposing new nurses to a wealth of knowledge and experience. Our nurses receive additional training such as ECG class, acute care class and ACLS certification.Additional Information: Supervisory Lead a team of nurses. 2 Years Cardiology experience required. Charge Nurse experience required. Benefit Information: Benefits eligible/exempt status. Many of the patients that you will care for require advanced medication infusions and post cardiac procedure care. Our team consists of registered nurses, patient/student nurse technicians, and house staff of residents, interns and other medical professionals. Preferred Qualifications Role Purpose Under the direction of manager, plans, directs, and coordinates activities of a unit on a designated shift. Performs direct patient care as needed and functions as clinical resource to nursing and support staff. Assesses, plans, evaluates and documents the nursing process of assigned unit as needed. Responsibilities Participates in professional development Promotes patient and family centered care in a healing environment. Educates patients and their families on how to manage their illness or injury, including post treatment home care needs and medication administration. Develops and implements individual plans of care in collaboration with other members of the healthcare team in accordance with the established guidelines and standards of nursing care. Provides unit leadership for defined period of time using critical thinking assessment and evaluation skills. Evaluate patients response and modifies plan of care accordingly throughout the patients' stay.
