Job Description: Operates one or several types of power construction equipment, such as; excavators, backhoes, motor graders, scrapers, compressors, pumps, shovels, tractors, or front-end loaders to excavate, move, and grade earth, and/or erect structures by performing the following duties. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assignedStarts engine, shifts gears, presses pedals, and turns steering wheel to operate loader. Operate CAT and DEERE Controls. Moves levers to lower and tilt bucket and drives front end loader forward to force bucket into bulk material. Moves levers to raise and tilt bucket when filled, drives vehicle to work site, and moves levers to dump materialPerforms routine maintenance on loader such as lubricating, fueling, and cleaning. Work closely with the foreman and pipe layer to ensure that production quotas are met and trenches are excavated safely and efficiently. Ensuring the safety of tools and equipment used in construction and making sure that they are safely put away after work Perform daily inspections and routine maintenance on equipment To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies: Use of Technology - Demonstrates required skills; adapts to new technologies; troubleshoots technological problems; uses technology to increase productivity; keeps technical skills up to date Job Knowledge: Competent in required job skills and knowledge; exhibits ability to learn and apply new skills; keeps abreast of current developments; requires minimal supervision; displays understanding of how job relates to others; uses resources effectively.
