Heavy Civil Construction Mechanic

Description:
Summary Inspect trucks, crane, drill rigs, bulldozers, and other heavy construction equipment for proper performance. Perform routine scheduled maintenance on equipment. Perform repairs or damaged equipment. May assist in loading and unloading equipment as necessary. May perform minor welding or fabrication as needed in the repair and maintenance of construction equipment. Primary Responsibilities Inspect trucks, crane, drill rigs, bulldozers, and other heavy construction equipment for proper performance. Diagnose faults using computerized testing equipment. Clean, lubricate, and conduct routine service on heavy construction equipment Clean and repair attachment for heavy and light construction equipment. Coordinate with Management on the maintenance, repair and refurbishment of heavy and light construction equipment. May weld and fabricate as necessary for equipment maintenance and related duties. Works in warehouse, shop or other company facilities. May be required to travel to construction jobsites to repair and maintain equipment actively deployed. Maintain records of all service, maintenance, and repairs. Report to Facilities manager any major damage or maintenance requirements. Must adhere to safety protocol, and work in a drug-free environment. Duties may include light administration, housekeeping, safety inspection and assistance to Project Superintendent. The individual who occupies this position must not pose a direct threat or significant risk of substantial harm to the health or safety of the individual or others that cannot be eliminated or reduced by reasonable accommodation. Minimum Skills and Qualifications 1-3 Years Heavy Construction Equipment Mechanic experience required. Specific equipment-type service certification credentials may be required depending on service requirements and warranty terms. OSHA 30 Hour Construction card required. Must be ASE certified.
