JOB SUMMARY : The Health & Safety Manager is responsible for leading and implementing the health and safety initiatives for the plants they support and proactively identifying health and safety needs and prioritizing accordingly based on risk. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Advise managers, teams and individual employees on health and safety matters and corrective steps for multiple locations in Southwestern Ontario Support corporate H&S programs and initiatives backss Health and Safety compliance with legislation, internal procedures, the OHSA and Regulation requirements by regular walk throughs, inspections, testing, documentation checking etc. Collaborate in the improvement of new programs and approaches Co-ordinate and participate in audit activities to identify opportunities for continuous improvement Provide structured mentorship for junior H&S representatives and identify professional development opportunities Identify Health and Safety training needs, develop programs and conduct training Attend and participate in Joint Health and Safety Committee meetings Develop and maintain systems to effectively analyze injuries.
