Head Riding Instructor & Horse Trainer for National-Level Competitive Program – Lead the development of a New Riding Academy and Competition Program! Position Summary Chagrin Valley Farms is seeking an experienced and passionate riding instructor (coach, mentor, trainer) and horse trainer to take our horse and rider development to the next level. We are seeking someone who loves teaching students of all ages to help us develop competitive equestrians to win in life and in the ring through our camp, lesson, and leasing programs. We have 30 school horses, an established clientele, a large waitlist, 50+ boarder stalls, a strong barn manager, and support staff. We also host on-site schooling and rated horse shows year-round. We are working to build a top-tier, all-season training center for horses and riders, with diverse opportunities for on-site competition, coupled with a world-class horsemanship and riding academy that capitalizes on our training facilities and resources to develop the future generations of American equestrians. The primary responsibilities for this role are to manage our curriculum for riding and horsemanship, train advanced students with the goal of showing and competing at the national level, oversee our riding instructors to train beginner and intermediate riders, compete at on and off-site shows and competitions, and buy/sell horses. Desired Skills, Qualifications and Experience: Experienced hunter/jumper trainer and instructor with a resume of successful students competing at elite levels Experience and certification in all levels of horsemanship instruction Preferred: USHJA Instructor, USEA ICP, British Horse Society, German National Equestrian Federation, etc. Familiarity with a variety of disciplines - dressage, horse trials, etc., a plus Collaborative, natural leader with strong interpersonal and horsemanship skills Experienced in stable management Compensation and Benefits Base starting salary of $65K plus performance-based bonuses and commissions Full benefits, including health insurance and paid vacation On-site housing option (two-bedroom suite with full kitchen) On-site stabling for one or more of your horses (negotiable) Re-location assistance negotiable Schneider’s Employee Discount About Chagrin Valley Farms Chagrin Valley Farms (CVF) is northeast Ohio’s premier Equestrian facility, and the flagship riding facility for Schneider’s Saddlery. We offer lessons, boarding, a leasing program, and an extensive array of shows throughout the year. We are a team of horse enthusiasts dedicated to the health and growth of the equestrian industry in our region. Located on 85 acres in Bainbridge Township, Ohio, the farm has two heated indoor riding arenas, 70+ permanent stalls, and over 200 new temporary stalls for horse shows. The farm also has four outdoor rings, including a newly renovated 200x400 jumper ring, a cross-country course, pastures, and trails. Our indoor and outdoor show rings feature SRS footing by Footing First. Competitors can enjoy top-level USEF Rated shows which attract riders from the region, Schooling shows, Dressage shows, Academy shows, and Mini Trials. The farm is also the home of the Chagrin Hunter-Jumper Classic, North America’s first Grand Prix! We are located about three hours from the Ohio World Equestrian Center at Wilmington.
