About the Teams We've come together to recruit two fantastic individuals to join our hard-working teams. The Justice, Home Affairs and Equalities team are responsible for oversight of the Government's spending on the Home Office, Ministry of Justice, Law Officer's departments, National Crime Agency and Parliament. We manage the relationship between HM Treasury and other departments, overseeing more than £10bn a year of government spending. The Housing, Planning and Cities team are responsible for managing the spending for the Department of Levelling Up, Housing and Communities (DLUHC). We work with them to accelerate house building, make housing more affordable and reducing inequalities between different areas of the UK. We work on separate areas of spending, but are aligned in that we are committed to being an excellent place to work, with a relentless focus on good leadership, learning and development and continuous improvement. About the Roles In these roles, common accountabilities include: · Leading on billions of pounds of spending: you'll have responsibility for overseeing scrutiny of significant amounts of spending, working with other departments to ensure money is spent appropriately, efficiently, and delivers value for money · Providing strong and inclusive leadership: you'll set direction for your team, and provide development opportunities and coaching · Leading and supporting preparations to set future budgets: you'll develop a deep understanding of spending and performance across policy areas to gain a clear view of the issues to be able to support ministers to set budgets for future years · Fostering excellent relationships: you'll build a network of constructive relationships inside and outside government in order to provide the best possible advice for HM Treasury ministers, and provide best value for.
