Designer (Graphic/Pre-Press Department) POS Professional Office Services is a national healthcare communications company headquartered in Waterloo, Iowa with production facilities throughout the country. Our products and services include print, digital communications, and healthcare communication technologies to help practices engage with patients. Our multi-channel communication offerings include customized/branded patient and practice collateral, electronic messaging via phone, text and email, and robust patient billing and payment systems to make it easy for patients to pay and for practices to collect money.POS is seeking Designer candidates to join our team located in Waterloo, IA. Position involves: Design and edit layouts for customers to produce commercial quality print orders a variety of ways. Preflight, manipulate, edit and adjust customer provided electronic files to prepare for both offset and digital printing. Work and communicate directly with sales/customers to design mainly medical forms and documents, but also brochures, booklets, advertising pieces, and other print items that can be manufactured by POS. Understand and implement style guides to assist customers with their brand identity and consistency of printed pieces. Reading and understanding shop order tickets, customer order forms and other supplied paperwork to determine correct product details and specifications. Prepare and organize final files for output and storage on POS server. Stay abreast of new design trends within the industry. Position may also require minimal assistance with production of printed projects. We seek candidates with the following qualifications: Creative artistic ability in the layout, aesthetics and design of commercial quality customer orders. High degree of competence using PC hardware and desktop design software including Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop & Illustrator). Experience with Microsoft Office a plus. Experience with both Offset and Digital/Toner Based Printing a plus. Basic troubleshooting and ability to perform routine maintenance on plate making equipment. High degree of quality and accuracy consciousness. Effective time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines. Works well in a team environment. Able to communicate clearly and concisely with the sales team/customers about layout and design. Two-year degree in commercial art or graphics design is required. Four-year degree preferred. Previous Graphic Design experience a plus. Hours range between 7:00 am and 5:00 pm, Monday - Friday. Staring hourly rate: up to $17.00 to $20.00 per hour commensurate with experience.Position offers an excellent opportunity for personal and professional growth.
