Our approach to writing instruction is informed by our understanding of writing as a complex ability that is continuously learned and relearned in relation to changing contexts and purposes. We are committed to creating an inclusive teaching and learning environment, and to principles and practices that foster equity and diversity. Job Title: CTL Graduate Writing Instructor Number of Positions: One Size of Appointment (hours): 125 hours Session: Summer 2024 Minimum Qualifications: A recently completed Ph D degree is a requirement for this position. Experience planning, organizing and tracking workshops or small-group events is required. Experience with one-to-one writing instruction, and a scholarly approach to one-to-one writing instruction, including familiarity with best practices, are required. Experience teaching academic writing in courses or workshops is required. Experience teaching graduate students is required. Experience with writing groups, either as a facilitator or as a participant, is required. An academic background in Physical Sciences, Life Sciences, or Social Sciences--or relevant experience working extensively with upper-level undergraduate or graduate student writing in these fields is required Preferred Qualifications: Experience and training in working with diverse students, including experience and training in second-language instruction at the university level, are assets.
