Reports Directly to: Golf Professional Staff Facility: Kiln Creek Golf Club & Resort is located on the southern peninsula of Virginia in Newport News. It is the center of a 3000-home community, features an 18-hole golf course, Nest Kitchen & Taphouse, The Lodge at Kiln Creek Golf Club & Resort, and many other amenities. The golf club has been recognized by Golf Digest as one of the best courses in Virginia and was recently voted Coastal Virginia's best golf experience. The resort caters to Annual Pass Holders, Residents, and frequent guests. In addition to the golf course, Kiln Creek Golf Club & Resort has an expansive skills facility featuring a practice golf range, practice pitching and chipping greens, and a practice putting green. Kiln Creek Golf Club & Resort provides a high-quality affordable golf experience to its annual pass holders, residents, and guests. The resort's professional staff will play a vital role to ensure an exceptional experience to visitors of the resort. Summary of Position: Assist the professional golf staff with all day-to-day Golf Operations by providing quality guest relations to annual pass holders, residents, guests, and staff. Responsibilities will primarily be in the golf shop attending to guest needs such as booking tee-time reservations, checking in guests for golf, operating the point-of-sale system, assisting with event/tournament setup, and maintaining a neat presentation of merchandise. Additional responsibilities may include but not be limited to assisting with golf bags, golf cart fleet staging, assisting golfers with on-course requests, and attending to practice facility needs such as setup and restocking practice range balls. Expectations and Responsibilities: Have a welcoming and positive attitude Deliver exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills Desire to provide a first-class experience for all pass holders, residents, guests, and staff Neat and organized presentation of self and business Proficient in operating Microsoft Word & Excel Operate Jonas Point-of-Sale System to reserve tee-times, check-in guests, and sell golf merchandise Assist with golf cart fleet staging, practice facility setup, and restocking practice golf balls for the practice facility Assist professional staff with daily golf operational needs Assist with setup and clean-up of golf related events and tournaments Requirements: High school diploma or GED Experience in or around golf (playing golf or competition golf) Must have two valid forms of identification - Driver's License and Social Security Card Must pass alcohol and drug screening prior to employment Compensation: Base compensation commensurate to experience ($12.00-15.00 hourly). Additional benefits include education and training assistance by PGA Professionals, use of facility for practice and play, discounted merchandise, and staff uniforms.
