Golf Course Maintenance Technician

Under the guidance of the Director of Operations, this position will perform a range of maintenance duties. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Assist with primary maintenance duties include - maintaining golf course grass areas using accepted practices for mowing greens, tees, fairways and rough. Raking bunkers, edging, sand seeding and overseeding, detailed string trimming, hand mowing, golf course set-up and more. Cultural and agronomic golf course practices - aerification, topdressing, fertilization, weed and disease control. Assist in maintaining trees using accepted practices in pruning, watering and fertilizing. Gather and properly dispose of leaves. Maintain and ensure all sidewalks and parking lot areas are clean. Possess familiarity of using and maintaining power and landscape tools such as leaf blower, power washer, gas powered lawn mower, hedge trimmer and chain saw. Other duties as assigned. Compensation: $14.50-$17.50/hour, depending on experience. F lexible schedule, free golf and driving range use, free bowling and discounted golf merchandise. Required Skills/Experience: High school diploma or equivalent. A minimum of one (1) year experience as a maintenance tech role. Must be able to operate maintenance equipment, including lawnmowers, leafblowers and hedge trimmers. Strong knowledge of pest management and basic lawn maintenance. High attention to detail with excellent organizational skills. Good stamina and physical health. Must pass and remain in compliance with drug-free workplace policies. Reliable transportation. Physical Requirements (as required by OSHA and ADA): Occasionally work in wet or humid weather conditions. Frequently work in outdoor weather conditions. Noise level is moderate.
