Madison, WI: Glaucoma specialist needed to join 3 glaucoma specialists in a physician directed division which is comprised of 22 ophthalmologists and 37 optometrists who serve 19 locations in Southern Wisconsin. This department has specialists in comprehensive ophthalmology, cornea, oculoplastics, and external disease, pediatrics, refractive surgery, glaucoma and retina. Many of the ophthalmologists in the department participate in an outreach program at the regional sites. Volunteer academic appointments may be available through the University of Wisconsin, and clinical research opportunities are available. Nearly 60 providers, the majority of which are board-certified ophthalmologists, optometrists and subspecialists offer everything from advanced surgical techniques to traditional eye procedures and retail optical services at 15 sites. An adjacent full-time outpatient surgical center, with a dedicated ophthalmic anesthesia team, an on-site, state of the art photography department with three professional ophthalmic photographers, and an ophthalmic diagnostic center. Highly trained and skilled technical staff. Staff members include Certified Ophthalmic Assistants, Certified Ophthalmic Technicians, Certified Ophthalmic Medical Technologists, Certified Opticians, nurses, ophthalmic photographers and business services staff. In-house training to technical staff with the services of a full time trainer, with an emphasis on continuing education. Competitive salary and Madison has a population of 220,000 and consistently ranks as one of the top places in the country to live, work, go to school and raise a family. The public schools are among the best in the country, with more recipients of the Presidential Award of Excellence than any other city in the United States. This Capitol City houses the University of Wisconsin, an endless array of music, dance, theater, museums.
