Job Title: General Service TechnicianJob Summary:We are seeking a dedicated and skilled General Service Technician who is passionate about maintaining and repairing vehicles to join our team. As a General Service Technician, you will play a crucial role in inspecting, diagnosing, and performing general maintenance and repairs on various automobiles. Your exceptional technical skills, attention to detail, and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment will be essential to ensure our customers' vehicles are safe and reliable.Responsibilities:- Conduct inspections and perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, tire replacements, filter replacements, and fluid checks to keep vehicles in optimal running condition.- Diagnose minor mechanical and electrical issues by utilizing diagnostic tools and following established repair procedures.- Perform minor repairs to engines, brakes, suspension systems, exhaust systems, and other components.- Utilize computerized systems to input and retrieve vehicle data and diagnostics.- Maintain accurate and thorough records of services performed, parts used, and costs associated with repairs.- Adhere to safety standards and procedures while handling hazardous materials and operating equipment.- Keep inventory of tools, parts, and supplies, and promptly report any shortages or required replacements.- Communicate effectively with customers to provide information regarding vehicle issues, repair recommendations, and estimated completion times.- Provide exceptional customer service, actively engaging with customers to address any concerns and ensuring their satisfaction.Requirements:- High school diploma or equivalent. Automotive trade school certification or relevant vocational training is a plus.- Proven experience as a General Service Technician or similar role in an automotive repair shop.- Knowledge of vehicle mechanics, including engine systems, electrical systems, brakes, and suspension.- Proficient in using shop equipment and computerized systems to diagnose and repair vehicles.- Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.- Ability to handle physical demands of the job, including standing, lifting heavy objects, and working in various weather conditions.- Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.- Outstanding communication and customer service skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical individuals.- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.Preferred:- ASE certifications or other relevant certifications.- Experience working with a variety of vehicle makes and models.- Knowledge of automotive regulations and safety standards.We offer competitive compensation and benefits packages, training opportunities, and a friendly work environment.
