A General Pediatric Physician practice is seeking a qualified physician for Savannah, GA. This and other physician jobs brought to you by ExactMD. Medical Doctors Only Apply. MD/DO - Pediatrician REQUIREMENTS ---Prescribes and administers treatment for a variety of situations such as infectious diseases, allergic disorders, metabolic disorders, neurological disorders, endocrine disorders, cardiac disorders, pulmonary disorders, gastrointestinal disorders, hematological disorders, renal disorders, musculoskeletal disorders, emotional disorders, acute trauma and emergency treatment of burns and removal of foreign bodies from body orifices. ---Evaluates, examines, diagnosis tests, interpretation of the total medical evidence and instituting proper treatment for infants, children and adolescents military dependents in both outpatient and inpatient settings. ---Assigned a full range of pediatric cases including the most difficult and urgent. Range of conditions treated will be from minor colds to severe life threatening infections requiring intensive life support efforts. Required to proceed on own initiative with emergency cases and other normal diagnostic and treatment procedures. ---Care of newborn will range from routine baby care, attend deliveries, and perform circumcisions in newborn male infants on a regular basis when requested by parents prior to discharge, to acute resuscitation of critically ill. Place umbilical line in the sick neonate as necessary. ---Interprets test results and evaluates examination findings. Prescribes treatment, including x-ray therapy, physical therapy, and medication. ---Within the policies and regulations of the hospital, coordinates patient access to medical care of appropriate referrals to other health care providers. For severe or extremely complex neonatal /pediatric conditions care, and activate the transportation arrangements being by either ground or air at the pediatrician's discretion. ---Demonstrate considerable ingenuity in identifying symptoms and developing a proper treatment regimen. Assures that the adolescent or adult guardian understands the treatment plan and provides for follow-up evaluation to assure completion of plan. ---Correctly annotate information in patient referrals ---Provides consultative advice to clinical rotators and residents in methods and procedures for diagnosis and treatment of diseases/illnesses. ---Utilize hospital automation systems including CHCS, AHLTA and Essentris in the delivery and documentation of all health care. ---Render consultative opinions to other physicians and auxiliary health care personnel. Supervises health care offered by non-physicians. ---Notify patients of laboratory and radiology results and document conversation in chart. ---Maintains, stores, safeguards, inputs, fills or distributes drugs and medicines. ---Serves as on-call pediatrician in rotation with the other pediatricians at Winn Army Community Hospital as scheduled by the Chief, Pediatrics or his/her designated representative. QUALIFICATIONS ---Must be a Doctor of Medicine (MD) or a Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) having successfully completed an accredited Undergraduate Program, Internship, and Residency Program. Graduates of foreign medical schools are required to possess both a medical license and other certification by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) or 5th Pathway. ---Must be board certified in pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics, American Osteopathic Board of Pediatrics, or equivalent. Shall have satisfactorily completed residency training in Pediatrics at an American Pediatric residency program and been awarded a diploma for satisfactory completion of said residency. ---Must have and maintain current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) by way of the American Heart Association approved training program. ---Must have and maintain a current unrestricted license in any of the 50 United States, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Guam, or the U.S. Virgin Islands and be able to obtain clinical privileges to practice medicine at the MTF where services are provided. ---Shall have and maintain a current Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) certificate or Controlled Drug Substance number as appropriate. Must ensure that renewal actions are accomplished well before expiration of the provider---s license and/or DEA certification to ensure compliance. ---Minimum of 1 year experience within preceding 3 years in the specialty. ---Must be a US citizen.
