The position offers a hybrid work arrangement option and an annual telecommute budget to support remote work. Attorneys are expected to meet a billable hour requirement of 1850 and will receive competitive health insurance benefits, 401(k) with a partial match, and eligibility for annual discretionary and billable hour bonuses. Duties:Provide legal counsel and representation to municipalities, local governments, and special districtsAdvise clients on matters related to general municipal law, including land use, zoning, and public contractingHandle code enforcement matters and represent clients in administrative hearings and court proceedingsAssist with legal issues pertaining to water law, including water rights, regulations, and disputesAddress legal matters concerning sanitation districts, including compliance, governance, and litigation Requirements:Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law schoolActive license to practice law in California3+ years of experience in General Municipal Law, Code Enforcement, Water Law, and Sanitation District LawStrong understanding of relevant laws, regulations, and proceduresExcellent communication and negotiation skillsAbility to work independently and collaboratively in a team environmentDemonstrated commitment to client service and satisfaction Education:Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school Certifications:Active license to practice law in California Skills:Legal research and analysisNegotiation and advocacyClient counseling and representationAdministrative and court proceedingsLand use and zoning regulationsWater rights and regulationsCompliance and governance in sanitation districts Founded over nine decades ago, this family-owned firm specializes in a wide range of practices including constitutional law, intellectual property, family law, real estate, public law, employment litigation, construction, insurance, data privacy, and others.
