Description: Lockheed Martin is seeking a Range Technician General Maintenance Worker in the Fort Walker, VA area.The General Maintenance Worker (GMW) performs general maintenance and repair of equipment and buildings requiring practical skill and knowledge (but not proficiency) in such trades as painting, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, and electrical work. Work involves a variety of the following duties: replacing electrical receptacles, wires, switches, fixtures, and motors, using plaster or compound to patch minor holes and cracks in walls and ceilings, repairing or replacing sinks, water coolers, and toilets painting structures and equipment; repairing or replacing concrete floors, steps, and sidewalks, replacing damaged paneling and floor tiles, hanging doors and installing door locks, replacing broken window panes, and performing general maintenance on equipment and machinery. This position performs maintenance, repairs, and support to ensure training ranges remain in operational-ready and safe conditions. All personnel supporting maintenance of live fire ranges need to do so in accordance with applicable Navy directives (e.g. MIL-HDBK 1027/3B, NAVSEA OP-5, AR 385-63) for compliance and safety. Basic Qualifications: Prior skill and knowledge (but not proficiency) in such trades as painting, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, and electrical work.Able to work outside in all weathers. Able to stand for long periods of time and walk long distances.Excellent Communication Skills.Ability to obtain and maintain a minimum of a Secret clearance therefore all candidates must be a US citizen. Desired Skills: Current Department of Defense Secret Clearance.Able to lift and carry 50 lbs. Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
