Job Title: General Ledger Accountant Reporting to: Senior GL Accountant Salary: DOE Location: Burnley (fully office based)I am recruiting for an experienced General Ledger Accountant to join this company's finance team as a value-added team member who will directly support the Senior GL Accountant and Accounting team. The role plays a crucial part in maintaining the integrity of the companies' financial records and supporting the businesses overall financial objectives. Responsibilities: - Effectively manage and track the company's fixed assets- Perform regular reconciliations between the general ledger and fixed asset sub-ledger to ensure accuracy and completeness of data- Manage intercompany loan transactions and reconciliations between various entities within the organisation- Work closely with stakeholders to resolve intercompany discrepancies and ensure timely settlement of intercompany balances- Assist the Senior GL Accountant during the month-end close process, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial data- Prepare and review journal entries and perform full detailed balance sheet reviews on a monthly basis - Support in financial reporting - analysing and explaining balance sheet and profit & loss variances, providing insights to stakeholders- Establish KPI metrics for each accounting support function to monitor & drive customer service levels- Support the financial controller in local statutory audit filings Requirements: - 5 GCSE (English and Maths required)- Accounting qualification / Part Qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA desirable - Minimum of 3 years work experience in accounting function- Strong system and transactional finance experience - SAP experience desirable, Excel and basic Microsoft packages essential Benefits: - 25 days holiday plus bank holidays - increasing with service- Option to buy up additional leave- Life assurance x 4 salary- Pension scheme- Early finish every other Friday- Increased parental leave benefits Interested in finding out.
