Position Summary: The Functional Training Manager will work within the HR Training Department, acting as the leader for Learning Development and Deployment activities, across the Mobile, Alabama Manufacturing Site. The role is responsible for providing the overall competence and learning strategy, working closely with senior leaders, within the Mobile site to deliver the overall business objectives. They will also ensure consistency in learning solutions with functional Academies in Europe. This includes forecasting, planning, scheduling, resourcing and maintaining relevant learning management systems. This role is responsible for leading a team of Learning Business Partners(LBPs) designing, developing and deploying relevant learning solutions. Primary Responsibilities : Functional Training Leadership Management: Develop a robust competence strategy fully aligned with the mission and business/functional strategy of the site. In liaison with the HU department, ensure effective management and maintenance of the job and competence catalogs with particular focus on the key and emerging competencies. Align with the relevant functional academies in charge of the job profiles, ensuring alignment of competencies, job descriptions and learning solutions. Plan and implement a site level competence assessment across all functional positions ensuring communication of steps to follow, support employees, conduct gap analysis and provide final recommendations across the Mobile Manufacturing site. Define and deploy learning solutions into the relevant on-boarding programs. Anticipate the impacts of global trends on jobs and competencies. Deliver an annual training schedule to meet forecast needs, and manage through regular reviews. Ensure sufficient resources are in place to meet training needs, while maintaining a high level of trainer utilization & qualification. Evaluate external training providers to ensure successful delivery of planned learning solutions. Deliver reporting for functional competence and learning related KPIs. Maintain relevant Learning Management Systems for the coordination of training needs for both A220 and A320 support functions. Ensure safety of team members and training participants, conducting regular safety walks and risk assessments and addressing areas of concern immediately. Ensure maintenance of the competencies and learning training catalog for each function. Support change management on the competence management & learning process. Ensure the interface with internal customers and internal/external suppliers, including(but not limited to) AIDT, Bombardier, Airbus Canada, Airbus Academies, Airbus Miami Training and Leadership University. Ensure licensed trainings are delivered in accordance with standards set out by course owners and conduct regular audits and reports to demonstrate compliance. Mandatory Curriculums: Ensure deployment of mandatory learning curriculum, as defined by Airbus Academies at the Mobile Manufacturing site. Additional Responsibilities: Provide input into the strategic planning for the HR and Organization Development and Training teams. Other duties, as assigned. Qualified Experience/Skills/Training: Education: Bachelor's degree in business administration or related field, or equivalent amount of education and experience. Experience: A minimum of 8 years of training, project management and/or prior leadership experience. Experience in Competence & learning management or a related field, Required. Previous experience working in a transnational environment, Preferred. Demonstrated leadership experience in project or operations management, Preferred. Knowledge, Skills, Demonstrated Capabilities: Project management knowledge and stakeholder management skills. Demonstrated leadership and management skills, particularly related to managing complexity, planning, communication and development of others. Deep knowledge of Airbus competence learning framework and associated Academies. Highly developed interpersonal skills. Strategic and analytical mind-set. Customer focused with a strong business orientation. Ability to operate both autonomously and in a team environment. Trusted partner to their customers and to their HR colleagues. Displays exemplary behaviors, aligned with the Airbus Values & Behaviors, at all times. Communication Skills (Spoken, Written, Influencing, Proficiency in Other Languages): Highly proficient written and spoken English. Well-developed communication and presentation skills. Additionally French language skills would be advantageous. Technical Systems Proficiency: Advanced knowledge and experience of G suite application, Preferred. Advanced knowledge of Learning Management Systems particularly MyPulse Learning (Cornerstone, Spotfire Reporting etc.) Travel Required: Domestic and International Eligibility: Eligible for employment in the U.S. Decision Making, Complexity: Support and guide site leadership team on competence management needs. Accountable for management of learning business partner team, including personnel hiring, development and allocation. Assess and prioritize learning requirements, make or buy decisions regarding provision of learning, schedule and implement training. Develop and recommend changes to regulated training, seeking approval for changes through appropriate process and stakeholder groups. Assess and provide recommendations for learning management systems software. Determine processes related to management of training, recommend for approval and execute in accordance with approved process. Job Dimensions, Contributions to Success: Directly responsible for establishing and maintaining relationships with Develop (HU) and all functional Academies. Oversight of training budget expenditure (administered by AIDT). Oversight of Training facilities and consumables, as it relates to functional training managed by AIDT, for the exclusive use of Airbus. Responsible for delivery of training to maintain compliance with regulatory bodies such as EASA, TCCA, FAA, and OSHA. Nature of Contacts: Involved communication, daily, with internal and external parties. Physical Requirements: Vision: Adequate to enter and read material on computer screens. Able to observe manufacturing operations including equipment as well as individual tasks. Hearing: Able to hear sufficiently to engage in conversation in office settings and on the production floor and flight line. Able to hear safety alerts and warning signals. Speaking: Able to engage in conversations in person and via electronic means and deliver information to groups of varying size with or without amplification. Equipment Operation Able to operate a wide range of personal and office electronic equipment as well as production-related tools and equipment including hydraulic lifts and power drills, etc. Carrying: Able to occasionally carry up to 50lbs/22kg which engaging in training, addressing production issues or as part of continuous improvement projects. Lifting: Able to occasionally lift up to 50lbs/22kg. Pushing/Pulling: Able to push/pull items on production and in office areas. Sitting: able to sit for extended periods of time at the computer, in meetings and observing production processes. Squatting/Kneeling : Able to occasionally squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items shelved on bottom shelves. Standing: Able to stand for extended periods of time, often on concrete floors observing production operations or delivering information. Travel: Able to travel overseas and domestically sometimes for extended periods of time, at short notice. Walking: Able to walk through office and production areas, around flight line and airstrips and sometimes on uneven indoor and/or outdoor surfaces.
