Alive launched in 2019 as a set-up & tear-down church in a local middle school. Over the years, Alive has grown, and in 2023 purchased & renovated its own building, centrally located in Brighton, MI. Alive’s average attendance is 300 on Sunday mornings. From the beginning, Alive has been passionate about helping people know God personally and live for Him passionately. We have a “come as you are” & “no perfect people allowed” culture, with passionate worship and uncompromising teaching of the Bible. Alive is a growing congregation with anointed Sunday morning worship experiences and excellent children & youth ministries, small group ministries, and Bible Basic classes. Alive is active in the community through various outreach programs and events. Vision: We see a large family church that is alive. A friendly gathering place where people get to know Jesus. A loving family in which people grow in the Lord. And a passionate movement where empowered believers serve their generation well. About the Worship Director/Pastor: The Worship Director/Pastor is an anointed worship leader, responsible to steward the presence of God and lead the congregation in worship. The Worship Director/Pastor will lead & develop all teams associated with worship (adult & youth) and all media tech teams. This person will be a leader with a deep personal relationship with Jesus, anointed for and called to full-time worship ministry, with proven personal & leadership qualities to lead the congregation in worship. Key Responsibilities: Bring Inspiration to the Vision of Alive Worship Lead and develop a worship and production team of Alive Team (volunteers) and to create a dynamic worship experience, advance the mission of Alive, and provide accessible avenues of spiritual growth. Primary Worship Leader Create face to face moments with God through worship and strive to make every weekend experience one that people want to repeat. Drive the weekend worship experience on the platform with enthusiasm and authentic, expressive worship. Motivated in self-improvement; striving to continually grow spiritually and in craft. Set Planning/Building Insert the weekly sets in Planning Center 4-5 weeks in advance. At least two weeks in advance, provide the key the song will be sung in and make sure all resources are available for your team (Multitracks, chord/number charts, band notes, tutorials). Lead the weekend experience, First Sunday Night services, and special events in worship that reflect Alive culture and the worship experience desired at Alive. Organize stage for specific weekend or event, making sure stage is clean/tidy. Oversee all AVL and production areas. Schedule and lead mid-week run-throughs, as well as the entire weekend pre-service routine (such as call times, start times, service expectations, service times, etc.). Knowledge of ProPresenter: Program projection, make sure lyrics, songs, backgrounds, and slides are loaded. Able to make edits, create song lyrics, and create specific announcement slides. Program Lighting: Set up lighting cues within lighting program that flows with the worship background/song tempo and focuses on dynamics for the entire service. Lead production team meeting before each weekend service (meet with the Pastors, production, and worship to discuss service flow and create effective transitions). Pioneer and lead Youth Worship team for Sunday nights. Build and train leader to oversee. Lead worship for special Alive events including, but not limited to; Christmas and Easter services, conferences, All-Staff meetings, weddings and funerals, and other outside events as margin allows. Team Leader Meet weekly with Lead Pastor for mentoring and development. Attend monthly Staff Meetings. Coordinate with Youth Directors concerning youth worship. Continually invest in developing the worship team through community and spiritual growth. Ongoing Recruitment and Team Development. Manage and organize Mid-Week Run-Throughs. Personally prepare for all run-throughs in order to set high standards and to provide constructive feedback for team improvement. Memorize music so teams are free to worship, and platform is free of music stands/clutter. Organize final run-through focusing on dynamics, transitions, flow, and start/end times. Lead team with comprehensive knowledge of Planning Center, our primary mode of communication and scheduling of teams. Schedule worship and production teams at least one month in advance for services and events. For each service/event, create service flow to reflect all elements and transitions. Job Essentials: Devoted Christ Follower (As a religious organization Alive Family Church makes hiring decisions that are aligned to our faith and beliefs). Calling to create authentic worship experiences. Able to lead worship from an instrument. At least 2 years of relevant experience leading a worship team. Exceptional musical/vocal talent. Comfortable with public speaking. Able to engage in healthy conflict and initiate hard conversations. Demonstrates spiritual gifts to serve others in team environment. Ability to recruit, lead, and train musicians, worship leaders, production volunteers, and vocalists. A critical ear and the ability to both give and receive constructive feedback.
