They are dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care in their own clinic, as well as in collaboration with their rehabilitation hospital partner, which is a 150-bed facility specializing in acute and subacute care.POSITION DESCRIPTION: The new physician will be employed by a private, physician-owned practice and will provide services at a partnered rehabilitation hospital.The physician will treat patients in the 150-bed facility and oversee 4 nurse practitioners on a day-to-day basis. There are 8 nurse practitioners total, comprising the medical consultation team and covering the facility 24/7. The role is approximately 90% patient care and 10% administrative, with the practice staffing an on-site administrator to assist the team in the facility.Duties of the physician role include, but are not limited to:- provide medical consultation services and support to admitted patients- perform admission consultations- provide leadership to the medical consultation team, including chart reviews- provide routine medical management- attend to urgent issues during hours on-site- attend weekly acute care transfer meetings- collaborate with other providers, including a weekly meeting with the physician-owner- act as a liaison between hospital staff and practice leadershipThe physician will see an average of 20 to 24 patients per day with the support of a clinical assistant.Patients are typically stable and being transferred to this facility for the final stages of their recovery process.The hospital uses the Epic EHR.On-call duties are very minimal. The facility is staffed 24/7 by the practice’s nurse practitioners and there is a triage service for them to contact if necessary, and a dedicated provider in the group who serves as the next point of contact. This physician would only be involved in on-call if that provider was unavailable and it was pre-arranged.
