The successful candidate must hold an active staff appointment at SHS, as well as an academic appointment within the Temerty Faculty of Medicine, U of T, at the rank of Full Professor. The term of the Chair position is 5 years with the opportunity for one 5-year renewal following a successful review. Applications will be accepted until September 18th, 2023. Position start date is November 1, 2023, or a mutually agreed upon date. The Sokolowski Chair in Uro-Oncological Research will develop and lead both clinical and translational research that supports strategies to prevent, diagnose and treat bladder and prostate cancer. The role will involve active leadership, nationally and internationally, to advance research strategies to improve outcomes for patients with bladder and prostate cancer. The Chair holder will have demonstrated a track record of excellence in international and multidisciplinary research in both clinical and translational efforts related to bladder and prostate cancer. Through research and scholarly activities, the Chair holder will position SHS as a global leader in knowledge generation and translation in the area of uro-oncology. Applicants from a wide variety of backgrounds, with an international reputation in their field, are encouraged. We welcome applicants working in both clinical and translational research domains spanning population health and molecular mechanisms in uro-oncology, and specifically bladder and prostate cancer.
