Job Description Position Title: Pellet Mill Operator Division: Millwork Purpose How does the position contribute to the success of the operation, division and company? The Pellet Mill Operator is responsible for overseeing machines that compress wood by:products into a pellet. Essential Duties, Responsibilities, Expectations and Performance Measures What measures or metrics will the individual be measured on and what level of performance is required? Other duties may be assigned. :Monitor and improve the output and performance of the Pellet Mill. :Control the process of adding raw materials, additives, and binders. :Identify and troubleshoot operational issues to minimize downtime and maintain continuous production. :Conduct regular quality checks on pellets to ensure they meet client specifications. :Perform routine maintenance on the Pellet Mill to ensure it's efficient performance.:Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly work area.:Train others to safely and efficiently operate the Pellet Mill. :Assist in other areas as needed.Company Values What company values are critical for the successful performance of this job? Reporting Line and Supervisory Responsibilities The Pellet Mill Operator reports to the Production Supervisor. Physical Demands and Work Environment What working conditions or physical functions are normally required to perform the essential functions of the job? The physical demands and work environment are representative of a typical sawmill environment. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. Noise level is moderate to high depending on the area of the mill. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is often required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; frequently climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk and hear. Requires close vision, distance vision, and depth perception. The employee must frequently lift 40 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.
