We are looking for a Front-End Web Designer to develop websites covering topics including cancer statistics, public health resources, and tools for cancer centers. In this position, you will: Design & code websites with an emphasis on usability & accessibility Collaborate on project objectives, requirements, content strategy, process flows, & user interfaces Create low & high fidelity mockups for an iterative design process Conduct compatibility tests with different web browsers & devices for new & existing functionality Ensure websites meet the requirements for accessibility & functionality, including compliance with the latest laws & best practices for U.S. government websites Perform other web design-related duties as assigned To be eligible for this position, you must meet the following requirements: BA/BS from an accredited institution as determined by the U.S. DOE with a 2.9+ GPA & 2-4 years of experience in graphic or web design; or AA/AS from an accredited institution as determined by the U.S. DOE with a 2.9+ GPA & 3-5 years of experience in graphic or web design Proficiency in HTML & CSS Demonstrated experience in hand-coding HTML Proficiency in JavaScript and/or Adobe Creative Suite preferred Demonstrated strong verbal & written communication skills Demonstrated ability to relay technical information to clients & users in layman terms Demonstrated strong problem-solving & analytical skills Demonstrated customer service skills Excellent attention to detail & organization skills Must be able to multi-task, meet deadlines, & work within a team Knowledge of Section 508 & W3C WCAG 2.0 guidelines a plus Candidate must provide examples of previous web design work that illustrates a use of templates, grid, typography, iconography, & color IMS is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
