Seward Community Co-op - Friendship Store Job Description Assistant Front End Manager Purpose: Using the co-op's Ends statement as a guide and in collaboration with the Customer Service Coordinator assist the Front End Manager in ensuring that Front End staff has all the tools, structure and support they need to consistently serve the needs of our culturally varied community and customers, while keeping the co-op's assets secure. Status: Reports to the Front End Manager Supervises Front End Staff Responsibilities: Model excellent customer service throughout the store Work effectively with customers and co-workers from various cultural backgrounds Hire, review, train, coach and schedule Front End staff within guidelines provided by Front End manager Maintain, implement, and provide ongoing training for new and existing Front End Staff Coordinate, implement and follow up on all procedural changes Create, maintain and update all electronic and paper procedural materials Monitor policy adherence by all Front End staff and take corrective actions as appropriate Review time cards to ensure payroll accuracy Ensure smooth daily operations of Front End Department Inventory, order and organize all supplies needed Address and follow up on technical issues Establish and maintain strong connections to other department's leadership to foster effective communication and collaboration Contribute to vision work to find ways to improve Front End operations Ensure safety and security of store assets and staff during co-op hours of operation Assist in planning of and attend all Front End meetings Serve as Floor Warden according to procedures in case of any emergency Other tasks as assigned by the Front End Manager Essential Qualifications: Proven ability to consistently practice and model excellent customer service Supervisory experience Demonstrated ability to work with customers and co-workers from various cultural backgrounds Excellent communication skills Written and spoken command of English Ability to multi task, prioritize, and organize Attention to detail, accuracy Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook Functional Qualifications: Ability to bend and stoop to grasp objects and climb ladders. Ability to stand, bend, stoop, reach, squat and walk for extended periods of time per shift Ability to bend and lift loads, not to exceed 50 pounds Handle environmental exposure to extreme temperatures (coolers and freezers). Ability to freely access all areas of the store including offices, sales floor, back stock areas, and walk-in coolers and freezers Preferred Qualifications: Money handling skills Experience serving the needs of a multi-cultural community Experience working within a cooperative business model Ability to speak multiple languages Job Posted by ApplicantPro
