The Foodservice Business Development Co-op will assist development of sales opportunities and drive sales growth within the food service channel. The candidate will work with the Foodservice Business Development Manager in engaging Foodservice Operators, Manufacturers, Blenders, and Co-packers to identify and tap opportunities for penetration. The ideal candidate will collaborate with Ingredion Sales, Marketing Culinology and Innovation teams to execute innovation and product strategies activated by compelling guest preferred Culinology concepts to drive growth. Core Responsibilities:Conduct research to identify pockets of growth and collaborate with key functions to develop an informed and compelling value proposition to drive channel penetration and growthConduct research, mapping, and sizing of un-met/under-served opportunities in Foodservice to drive business developmentConduct research to identify target Manufacturers, Blenders, and Co-mans for specific target applications/categories to meet the finished product needs of target/specific Foodservice OperatorsResearch and conduct capability mapping, and develop profiles of target Manufacturers, Co-mans, and Blenders to facilitate business developmentAssist Foodservice Business Development Manager in preparing and executing sales pitches, Foodservice shows/events, and conferencesIdentify and develop profiles for targeted customer contacts to facilitate lead generation and opportunity developmentConduct research and follow-ups to support lead generation and management, and administer leads in SFDCAssist Ingredion Foodservice partners in executing food service strategy and plansSupport the development of Sales and Marketing content and materials to facilitate engagement with Customers and Ingredion's Commercial TeamsGather Operator / Customer needs, define requirements, and support solution development and product supply options to sustainably meet Operator needs, taping existing and new Foodservice Manufacturers, Co-mans, and BlendersSupport the development of Ingredion's regional and global food service strategy to drive aggressive market penetration and expansion, and activation of the Ingredion brandKey DeliverablesStrong opportunity pipeline and prospective customers Target Foodservice Operators, Manufacturers, Blenders, and Co-mans with unmet/underserved needsTarget list of Manufacturers, Blenders, and Co-mans for specific target applications/categories and Foodservice OperatorsResearch and insights in support of Sales and Marketing activitiesContent and deliverables for Business Development activitiesQualified candidates will have:Working towards a Bachelor's or Graduate degree, ideally in Food Science, Business (especially Hospitality Business Management), and or Culinary ArtsAbility to work full-time (40 hours/week) during Summer 2023 and part-time (15-20 hours/week) during Fall 2023Experience working in or serving Restaurant Foodservice, preferably QSRs and Fast Casual Professional experience and or academic training in Sales, Marketing, and or Business Development experience is a plusDeep and extensive expertise in Market research and analysis, insights development, and market sizingStrong passion for customers and entrepreneurial mindsetA can-do attitude and drive for results: continually drive for personal and organizational resultsAbility to work and influence across functions and comfortable working in a matrix organizationBalance the need for analysis with the need for urgency to make timely, sound decisionsHighly enumerate with outstanding communication skills both written and verbal, and customer relationship-building capabilitiesHigh emotional intelligence and empathy, and excellent interpersonal and active listening skills #WayUp We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company.
