HVO has more than 40 years of experience in manufacturing of disposable healthcare products and has created partnerships with some of the key players in the international healthcare industry. JOB TITLE: Food Service Assistant Part time EMPLOYEE STATUS: Non-Exempt, Hourly PURPOSE: To ensure the delivery of high-quality services by assisting in operating the café. Provide excellent customer service and maintain a positive reputation for the organization and the café. AREA OF PROGRAM RESPONSIBILITIES: The primary area of program responsibility is within the scope of Café 56. ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Greeting customers, taking food and beverage orders, and accurately entering them into the ordering system. Ensuring all orders are filled quickly and accurately, and that food is high quality Promptly addressing any customer service issues and referring to management if and when necessary Assist with food preparation Deliver food orders to customers Keep the kitchen clean and orderly Answer any customer questions Follow food safety regulations at all times Performing preparation duties such as rinsing, peeling, slicing, and dicing fruit and vegetables. Wrapping, date-labeling, and storing food items. Cleaning and organizing work areas, equipment, utensils, and service station. Following established recipes to prepare menu items. Following guidelines to ensure correct serving temperatures and adequate portion control. Escalating customer concerns and complaints to management. Complying with relevant safety, hygiene, and service standards and procedures. Can perform first aid, CPR and NCI Other duties as assigned by supervisor. MINIMAL REQUIREMENTS/PERFORMANCE STANDARDS: Basic math and cashiering skills. Standard kitchen equipment, utensils, and measurements. Sanitation practices related to handling and serving food. Interpersonal skills using tact, patience, and courtesy. Proper lifting techniques. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 1) Work is performed while standing, sitting and/or walking. 2) Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision and hearing. 3) Requires the use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations. 4) Requires bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, reaching. 5) Requires the ability to lift, carry, push or pull medium weights, up to 50 pounds. EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: High School Diploma or G.E.D. Six month's food service experience preferred. Must complete training course for ServSafe Food Handler certification within 90 days of hire.
