About this role What will you be responsible for? Here is a snapshot of what your day to day will look like: We align with State and Federal and Newmont Policies and Procedures regarding Safety and Environmental regulations and standard methodology. We protect, troubleshoot & analyze potential defects in machinery related to process operations i.e. Mill, ADR, Crusher etc. We maintain machine integrity by providing a robust lubrication regime. We collect, analyze and interpret critical machine data to save downtime and reduce maintenance costs using oil sampling, vibration collection, thermal images, airborne and structural ultrasound & ultrasonic testing techniques. Education: Mechanical/Electrical Trade experience is helpful, but may not be required. Experience: Able to drive a motor vehicle, and must possess a valid driver’s license with at the least one-year of driving experience. Able to read, write and possess basic math and science skills to complete daily reporting and analyzing requirements. Reliable, consistent work history. Skills and Abilities: Demonstrate ability to follow directions, consistently follow company policies and procedures, maintain a high level of efficiency, demonstrate ability to apply knowledge gained and work as a team member. Ability to come-up with practical solutions to problems. A Trainee candidate must be able to learn and perform the following principles: Contribute to site safety management programs & improvements. Assist in Environmental State and Compliance Inspection. Ensure that work execution standards are reliable, repeatable and best practices are replicated across all fixed plants. Understand maintenance reliability to reduce unplanned downtime and re-work Housekeeping to ensure everything is clean, in its proper place and organized Ability to explain the principles of lubrication (purpose, types, methods, viscosity, film strength, etc.). Ability to identify the location of all oil/grease lubricated equipment, correct type of lubricant to use and the location of filters and strainers. Ability to perform manual lubrication, change filters, drain and fill oil, take a quality oil sample, change breathers, etc. Carry out oil sampling, vibration, thickness testing, thermography, etc. routes. Send oil samples to the Laboratory for analysis. Support the maintenance team on lubrication tasks, acting as the SME in this area and applying best lubrication practices. Proper lubrication and servicing of mechanical and electrical equipment. Basic understanding of hand tools, their uses and safe handling practices. Basic computer skills (email, website, drives and CMMS). Good verbal and written communication skills. Working Conditions and Location You will work 10 hour Day shifts, Mon-Thu or Tues-Fri, 06:00-16:30. The Cripple Creek & Victor (CC&V) Mine site is located at elevations ranging from approximately 9,400 ft. to 10,600 ft. above sea level. Workers in this position are routinely exposed to conditions at various work sites throughout this range of elevations and must be physically capable of working at this altitude. Weather conditions can and do change frequently, and can become severe at times. Ability to complete work tasks while exposed to weather conditions / elevation. This position has multiple levels (which may range from level 1 up to level 6).
