Who We Are: The New Orleans JCC is a state-of-the-art fitness center and pool, a New Orleans early childhood education leader, a fun-filled summer day camp, and so much more. It is a place for adults to take an exercise class, an art class or, a dance class. A place for children and teens to experience learning through enrichment classes, sports leagues, family activities, and summer camps. The JCC is built on Jewish values but is welcome to everyone.The mission of the New Orleans Jewish Community Center is to promote and ensure the well-being of our Jewish community and to instill an understanding of Judaism and its heritage by providing a Center where all can enjoy, learn, experience, and share in quality activities in a Jewish environment. The Fitness Consultant will contribute to the Vision, Mission, and Values of the New Orleans Jewish Community Center by helping elevate the fitness department member service experience and help increase the JCC's overall fitness productivity. What You'll Do: Bring the JCC culture to life by ensuring each guest receives outstanding service by providing a guest-friendly environment by greeting and acknowledging every guest, saying "hello" and "goodbye," while maintaining outstanding standards. Continuously enhance the member experience, increase revenues, and boost retention rates. Offer free fitness orientations to members, explaining facilities, amenities, and in-body assessments, to boost revenue for the personal training department. Provide constructive feedback on techniques and exercises to members and encourage them to attend complimentary orientations. Monitor and assist members in achieving their fitness objectives. Utilize cardiovascular and strength equipment to initiate routines, and reference personal training for fitness programming. Be responsible for maintaining order in the workout area by racking weights, overseeing equipment usage, and informing the OD of any issues. Assist members when needed, which includes spots or advice. Properly perform a risk assessment for each member, which includes taking blood pressure and other testing procedures. Perks! Free Complimentary Fitness Membership What You'll Bring: A degree in Kinesiology, Exercise and Sports Science, Health and Wellness promotions, Athletic Training, Physical Therapy, or a related fitness field is highly preferred. Experience working with individuals of varying ages, skill levels, and physical and emotional abilities. CPR/First Aid certification is r equired. Strong leadership skills. Must be able to coach a variety of skill levels.
