The Role : As the Financial Reporting Specialist, you play a pivotal role in ensuring that the Accounting Services team meets the full scope of its responsibilities. You will apply sound financial judgement and adopt a flexible approach in providing consultative support to leaders across organizational divisions. Under the direction of the Manager, Financial Reporting, you will be responsible for complex analysis of accounts, preparing reports for management, cash management, accurate financial record keeping and reporting, and providing sound advice and recommendations. Responsibilities include: Ensures timely and accurate close of the general ledger and timely compliance with reporting to the Board, management, all government organizations, and service providers Ensures month-end tasks are completed on time and with accuracy by the Financial Reporting staff Ensures financial reports are timely, accurate, consistent, and meet the requirements of CLBC, the Office of the Comptroller General (OCG), Financial Information Act, etc. Ensure the financial statements and notes are prepared in accordance with the accounting requirements the Budget Transparency and Accountability Act of BC. Prepares audit working papers and liaises with internal and/or external auditors. Designs and prepares financial reports for management Provides financial management.
