Description:
Position Purpose:Proactive maintenance of accounting functions for large plant locations (250+ employees) including day to day functions associated with inventory management and costing. Work closely with plant manager for increased financial visibility at the plant level.Essential Functions:1. Provide financial support for capital development projects from approval to installation.2. Responsible for accurate recording of manufacturing and overhead costs3. Analyzes variances, monthly operating results, and key operating measures ensuring results are accurately reported.4. Produces daily, weekly, monthly reports of manufacturing results and performance.5. Assists local management in identifying and implementing cost reduction opportunities.6. Assists division accounting personnel in the monthly closing process. Records reoccurring expenses, such as depreciation, taxes, insurance for the location.7. Works with Division to maintain standard costs, routers and burden rates.8. Assist in both internal/external audits.9. Ensures adequate internal controls exist and are utilized at the plant level. Identifies areas of weakness and assists local management in implementing corrective action.10. Assists local management in developing monthly forecasts and annual plan.11. Participate as a member of plant managers staff by involvement in regular staff meetings and monthly management review meetings.12. Perform monthly reconciliation of balance sheet accounts.13. Maintain Fixed Asset System for the location.14. Cost development for current and new products.15. Prepares and tracks product margins, cost reductions and new product programs.16. Analyzes inventory variances/transactions, plus inventory control cycle count program.17. Responsible for updating and maintaining all Leases for the facility through the LeaseQuery system. Reconciling lease activity to details LeaseQuery reports.18. All other duties assigned.Education and Training* BS/BA Degree in Accounting required* CMA/CPA certificate a plus* MBA Degree a plusMinimum Qualifications* 5+ Years cost analysis experience in a manufacturing/machining environment required * Experience in standard cost systems required* Strong analytical skills with ability to analyze and interpret data required* Familiarly with General Accounting required (A/P, Payroll, General Ledger) * Solid PC and mainframe software skills (MS Office, MRP, Ledger, Query) required* QAD experience a plus* 2-3 years' experience in standard cost rate development a plus * 2-3 years' experience in cost quote development a plusPhysical Demands* Constant sitting* Occasional standing, walking and balancing* Minimal bending, squatting, kneeling, climbing and reaching * Lifting 1-5 lbs.* Carry up to 5 lbs. approximately 25 feet* Push/Pull 1-10 lbs. of force 5 feet Environmental Conditions* Work Environment: Office/AdministrativeBehavioral Traits * Excellent written and verbal communication skills* Demonstrated ability to learn quickly, ask questions for clarification, and take initiative* Ability to prioritize and plan work activities to efficiently meet deadlines* Strong customer service orientation* Must be able to work effectively in a team* Strong analytical and technical problem-solving ability* Ability to do multiple tasks effectivelyHendrickson is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
