Field Underwriter- Commercial Lines (Broward/ Dade/ Hillsboro /Pinellas Counties, FL)JOB SUMMARYThis position performs on-site surveys of low to moderately complex risks, and reviews and evaluates submissions for and renewals of commercial property insurance for acceptability and pricing decisions utilizing various underwriting tools and resources in accordance with corporate underwriting guidelines and standards. The position mandates successful completion of all requirements of Citizens Underwriting School, which includes obtaining an overall passing score.Job Duties | Essential Functions: Models ethical behavior and executives job responsibilities in accordance with Citizen's core values, ethics, and information protection policies. Underwrite, review, evaluate and physically inspect low to moderately complex commercial properties and features, gathering relevant underwriting information, and performing wind mitigation inspections and replacement cost evaluations when needed. Organizing and preparing reports from field surveys to include replacement cost estimates, detailed photos, wind mitigation forms, and other pertinent documents for underwriting the risk. Participate in and leads underwriting related projects, committees or special assignments as requested by management. Provide technical advice and support to agents, management, claims and other internal / external customers regarding the company's policies, coverages, guidelines, and procedures. JOB SPECIFICATIONS Ability to analyze and interpret policy contract, coverages, procedures, guidelines, and reports. Strong technical knowledge related to Commercial property insurance underwriting. Strong knowledge of the Commercial Property and Casualty insurance industry. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Cogent verbal, written and presentation communication skills. Demonstrated proficiency in evaluation software. Strong problem solving and decision-making skills. Interpersonal Skills and ability to effectively interact with others under a variety of circumstance. Ability to work independently, as part of a team multitask and adapt to frequent priority changes. Proficient in Adobe Acrobat Prior experience in the conducting of field underwriting surveys. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required. Education High School Diploma / GED required. Bachelor's Degree OR 4 years relevant experience, OR a combination of college education and relevant experience equivalent to 4 years 10 or more years of experience in property insurance underwriting, field claims adjusting, or insurance related inspection work Possession of IIA Certificate in General Insurance or equivalent insurance designation such as CIC, CPCU, 2-20, 6-20 or 4-40 Citizens is Proud to Be an Equal Opportunity EmployerVisa sponsorship is not available for this position.#LI-VS1
