Senspex in Rio Rancho, NM is seeking to hire a Field Service and Installation Technician to support our project execution team with field installations and production. This team member will be critical to the success of our mission as a company and also be responsible for assisting in the assembly, installation, and testing of hardware. Competitive pay 5-day work week Excellent benefit options which includes vision, dental, life insurance/LTD/STD, 401(k) with company match and Senspex paid medical premiums for its employees, plus other available voluntary supplemental insurances Profit sharing bonus plan Paid Time Off (PTO) 10 paid holidays Opportunities for growth What you'll get to do as a Field Service and Installation Technician: Test electronic equipment using standard test equipment, and analyze results to evaluate performance Read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematic drawings for assembling fine electronics Install and perform complete set-up and initial testing of sensor components and systems Perform diagnosis, repair, verification, testing, calibration, and complex troubleshooting processes relating to the installation and repair of surveillance equipment and thermal imaging cameras Identify and resolve equipment malfunctions, working with manufacturers and field representatives as necessary Complete repairs in a timely and professional manner in accordance with recommended procedures Assist less experienced co-workers on assembly, testing, problem-solving, and troubleshooting techniques of sensor components and systems Assist in the identification, analysis and solution of quality issues within the work group Maintain system logs and manuals to document testing and operation of equipment Adjust and replace defective or improperly functioning circuitry and electrical components Communicate with internal and external customers to identify and solve equipment problems. Provide customer support and education, working with users to identify needs, determine sources of problems, or to provide information on product use and operation. May require preparing training documentation such as a PowerPoint presentation and presenting slide deck in front of a small crowd. Provide support and recommendations for new and existing equipment with regard to installation, upgrades, and enhancements. Perform on-site and field service installation, troubleshooting, and professional repair and maintenance of electro-optical equipment and thermal imaging cameras. Possess a working knowledge of internet protocol and experience installing and troubleshooting IP devices. Experience operating lifting equipment such as a boom lift or man-lift, working at heights with fall protection personal protective equipment. The qualifications we require from you: Associate Degree in Engineering, Electronics Technology or other related technical field; or equivalent certifications plus four years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience Ability to travel, up to 40%, domestic and international Knowledge of sensor system component installation, testing, service, and troubleshooting Work experience in outdoor trades The qualifications we'd like to have from you: Equipment operation, commercial trucking, electrical, electronics and radio communications training Confident and dynamic personality; approachable and friendly with a positive and professional attitude Ability to work independently as well as with a team Working knowledge of electrical circuits; shielding and grounding, RF and multi-conductor cables; and/or fiber optics communication Experience using electronic diagnosis and repair tools such as voltmeter, oscilloscope, ESD control equipment and soldering tools ES-3J Low voltage journeyman Machine tool experience: drill press, grinder, power hand tools Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot complex electronic assemblies, including motion control, embedded firmware controllers, optical assemblies, and low voltage power systems Working knowledge of CAD tools and the ability to perform documentation of field installations Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, written and verbal Knowledge in quality management systems such as ISO 9001:2015 Experience working in a military or federal environment Other Requirements: Must be a U.S. citizen or have the legal right to work within the United States Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment background and drug screen Must possess acceptable forms of identification under the REAL ID Act May require obtaining a U.S. DoD security clearance. Candidate must have the ability to obtain and maintain security clearance in order to work on projects/programs.
