Lindy Paving looking for a Field Mechanic to join its team in the Erie, PA region. This position offers union wages with top-notch, healthcare benefits, including medical, dental, and vision. Primary Function: Diagnose, repair and maintain all types of earthmoving equipment. Typical Duties: Maintain, diagnose, and repair all types of earthmoving equipment; Order equipment repair parts utilizing a formal purchase order system; Complete service work as required; Prepare and complete service documentation; Utilize laptop computer and software programs for information and diagnostic purposes; Work in a safe manner and maintain a clean, safe work environment. Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications and Experience: At least five (5) years experience as an equipment mechanic; A current Class A or B CDL license is required; PA state inspection licensing is preferred; Must be willing to join a union (Lindy Paving is a union contractor); The ability to be a self-starter and work independently on a regular basis; Be willing to work overtime and varying shifts as well as being able to travel among various locations in western PA, eastern OH and northern WV; Must be computer-literate with a knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel software; Must be a hands-on team-oriented individual with a positive attitude and the ability to work in any kind of active construction zone.
