Job Title: Farm Manager Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Farm Manager, who will solicit, develop and service farm management clients within the guidelines of bank policies. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of farm operations, including crop production, financial management and owner relations. As a Farm Manager, you will have a hands-on role in driving the success of our farms by ensuring the highest standards of productivity, efficiency, and sustainability. Responsibilities: 1. Manage farm agency and trust properties held at Bank of Pontiac Trust Department. 2. Work with clients, trust beneficiaries and attorneys, to manage properties in accordance with the bank’s Trust Department. 3. Develop and implement strategic plans for efficient farming operations, including annual crop rotation plans. 4. Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and environmental policies. 5. Identify and implement best practices for improving crop yields, and general farm productivity. 6. Monitor and manage pest control measures and fertilization practices to optimize crop growth. 7. Oversee the procurement of equipment, supplies, and inputs required for farming operations, ensuring effective budget management. 8. Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, buyers, and partners to facilitate efficient supply chain management and market integration. 9. Monitor and analyze farm financials, prepare budgets and periodic reports to assess farm performance and identify areas for improvement. 10. Track and ensure compliance with relevant local, state, and federal regulations regarding farming practices and permits. 11. Stay updated on industry trends, innovations, and technological advancements related to farming practices to incorporate efficient and sustainable farming methods. 12. Resolve any issues or disputes that may arise among neighboring landowners or other stakeholders, using strong communication and problem-solving skills. 13. Negotiate contracts with clients and leases with farm operators. Requirements: 1. Proven experience in farm management, with a minimum of 5 years in a similar role. 2. Strong knowledge of agricultural practices and crop management. 3. Excellent leadership and team management skills to effectively oversee staff. 4. Proficient in financial management, budgeting, and report preparation. 5. Good communication and interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with colleagues, suppliers, and buyers. 6. Ability to adapt to changing circumstances, make quick decisions, and solve problems effectively. 7. Knowledge of sustainable farming practices, organic certification procedures, and environmental regulations. 8. Physically fit and able to work outdoors, sometimes in challenging weather conditions. 9. Continue education and work toward Accredited Farm Manager designation. 10. Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality.
