Whether we're meeting with families through in-home weekly visits, connecting them to local resources in their community, or hosting support groups for parents to bond, this team makes a direct impact on the lives of the Iowans we are privileged to serve. What You'll Do This position will provide direct casework and case management to families to optimize the home environment for children and their parents using assessment, education, support and advocacy. The objective for the family Support Worker will be to assist clients and their families in developing skills for self-sufficiency. Utilizing assessment, goal-setting, and strength based interventions, our program helps families improve the quality of their lives and eliminated the need for government assistance once and for all. Additionally, the Family Support Worker will help families obtain resources and services needed to create greater opportunities and personal responsibility. Internal and external collaboration as well as consistent supervision are main components of the position as well.Family Support Workers will meet with assigned families in person via traveling by car to their homes or other community settings and contact by telephone which occur during normal business hours. What You'll Need Required: Applicants will have a high school diploma and 3 years of experience working with children and families.Preferred: Applicants will have a Bachelor's degree in a health, education, or human service related field and one year of related experience working with children and families.This position requires a valid driver's license, auto insurance, a good driving record and the ability to pass an extensive background check including checks of the Dependent Adult and Child Abuse registries, Sex Offender registry and a criminal history check.
