KeyStaff is looking for an experience Facility Maintenance mechanic. Pay: $17-$27 hourly Primary Role and Purpose: The Facility Maintenance Mechanic performs general maintenance and repairs of including but not limited to mechanical, electrical, and sanitary systems. Responsibilities and Duties: • Performs general facility maintenance and repair, including repairing woodwork; replacing electrical switches, fixtures, and motors; painting, repairing, and replacing plumbing fixtures and drainage systems; and replacing broken glass.• Examines facility exterior and interior, playground equipment, and grounds; performs maintenance and minor repairs.• Performs weekly door and other safety audits as required.• Advises supervisor on all detected significant facility repairs, including lockers, furniture, and equipment.• Conducts all repairs as assigned by work order or supervisor.• Communicates with maintenance vendors and contractors and shares information effectively and timely with campus administration.• Assists with ground maintenance, including mowing and detailing.• Assists with moving furnishings like desks, tables, chairs, file cabinets, etc.• Moves, installs, assembles, and repairs all furniture and playground equipment when requested.• Installs wall hangings, mirrors, blackboards, bulletin boards, projection screens, towel dispensers, soap dispensers, and other items as requested.• Installs door and window assemblies and hardware, including window glass and screens.• Installs ceiling and flooring materials.• Coordinates and ensures completion of annual inspections (e.g. backflow testing, gas pipe, fire extinguisher, elevator, etc.).• Transports equipment and furniture as needed.• Uses equipment and tools following safety guidelines.• Follows safety guidelines and techniques to accomplish job duties, including lifting.• Keeps work area free of unsafe conditions and informs supervisor of problems that cannot be immediately corrected.• Keeps tools and equipment in optimum working order through required preventative maintenance. Other: • Maintains employee development plan as necessary.• Demonstrates behavior that is professional, ethical, and responsible. • Ensures a positive, constructive relationship with supervisors.• Ensures professional two-way communication with colleagues, students, parents, and visitors.• Reports to work as scheduled. • Abides by all policies established by federal and state law that apply to charter schools, Commissioner’s Rules that apply to charter schools, and local charter policy.Adheres to policies related to boundaries with students.• Attends required abuse risk management training.• Reports suspicious and inappropriate behaviors.• Follows mandated abuse reporting requirements.• Adheres to job-specific abuse risk management responsibilities.• Ensures unused rooms and closets remain locked; routinely monitors high-risk locations (bathrooms), etc.• Performs other duties as assigned. Travel This position requires moderate in-town travel, up to 25%, between multiple facilities. Mental demands: • Work on multiple projects and tasks within a given time.• Collaboratively work with others.• Maintain emotional control under stress.• Frequent interruptions and deadlines. Physical demands and environmental factors: • Frequent walking, standing, stooping, bending, pulling and pushing.• Frequent lifting 10-45 pounds.• Infrequent lifting of more than 45 pounds, with assistance.• Frequent exposure to temperature extremes (hot and cold), humidity extremes, and noise.• Frequent exposure to biological hazards.• Daily attendance and punctuality are essential functions.
