POSITION SUMMARY The Facilities Maintenance Technician performs a wide variety of skilled welding, electrical, masonry, and carpentry tasks as well as general facility maintenance and repair needs for different local and regional industrial and commercial clientele of G&C Multi-Services. WORK SCHEDULE This is a full-time position working Monday – Friday from 7:00am – 3:30pm with frequent opportunities to work overtime. The incumbent will be on call every other week from Monday – Sunday (rotating on a biweekly basis with colleagues). ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Diagnoses problems and makes repairs in areas such as masonry, electrical, carpentry, and exterior structural for dock equipment, air compressors, garage and overhead doors, gate systems, conveyors, lifts, generators, and auto doors. Performs carpentry, electrical, plumbing, welding, and other semi-skilled building and mechanical repair tasks. Effectively manage more than one project as assigned, exceeding the expectations of our customers, and ensuring our work adheres to all company safety policies and OSHA-mandated requirements. Collaborates with pre-fabrication and design personnel as necessary. Occasionally enters and works in confined spaces. Negotiates and resolves all customer concerns. Ensures the proper maintenance of equipment, coordinating repairs and inspections as necessary. Participates in any necessary training or certification programs to keep up with changes in technology or industry best practices. Demonstrates a high level of integrity and professionalism at all times. Performs other related duties as required or requested by Senior Management. MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES 5+ years of knowledge and experience with regard to repairing dock equipment, fire doors, rolling steel doors, garage doors, overhead doors, air compressors, gate systems, conveyors, auto doors, walk-in coolers and freezers, and general facility maintenance. 2+ years of hands-on welding and fabrication experience. Knowledge with and use of standard maintenance tools and equipment such as multimeters, wire/cable strippers, pliers, channel locks, wrenches, screw drivers, ratchets, socket sets, crimping tools, etc. Must be willing and able to travel to various client locations within Paducah and surrounding counties. Ability to be on call every other week, which includes weekends. Capable of reading and understanding construction blueprints, schematics, and specs. Superior oral communication and interpersonal skills. Deadline and detail oriented. Able to work in a team environment. Self-directed and capable of handling multiple tasks with minimal supervision. Able to work effectively in stressful, time-sensitive environments. Ability to meet the physical demands of all projects including lifting, climbing and other somewhat challenging physical requirements. Performing the job safely in a variety of physically challenging working conditions. Able to see color to discern color-coded wiring. REQUIRED EDUCATION, LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, AND OTHER MISCELLANEOUS ITEMS Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. Must have a clean driving record for at least the past 5 years. Able to pass a DOT physical and maintain a DOT medical card. Completion of OSHA Competent Person training desired. A rc flash certified and Generac generator certification heavily favored. Able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and a thorough criminal background check.
