Practice Area: Construction/Developer - Agreements & Transactions,Construction - General, Job Type: Attorney, Firm Type: Law Firm, Experience: 3 Years, A law firm is seeking a Facilities Associate Attorney with the following qualifications:Job Overview: The Facilities Associate Attorney will primarily focus on legal matters related to public agency procurement and contracting, public works, real property transactions, general agency law, and pre-litigation dispute resolution. The role requires excellent research and writing skills, managing contract preparation and negotiation, effective client communication, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.Duties:Conduct legal research and analysis on public agency procurement and contracting, public works, real property transactions, and general agency law.Prepare and revise contracts ensuring legal compliance, risk management, and reasonableness.Assist in bid protests, prompt payment issues, stop payment notices, false claims, suretyship, and prevailing wage law matters.Evaluate and resolve pre-litigation disputes, including adherence to government claims procedures.Provide counsel on compliance with the Ralph M. Brown Act, the Public Records Act, and conflict of interest law.Collaborate with senior attorneys to develop legal strategies and courses of action.Requirements:3-5 years of relevant experience in public agency procurement and contracting, public works, real property transactions, and general agency law.Strong understanding of bidding processes and requests for proposals.Proficiency in legal research methodologies and writing skills.Ability to communicate effectively in person and through various forms of telecommunication with clients.Self-starter with the capacity to take ownership of legal matters and follow through under supervision.Awareness of personal strengths and limitations with a desire for professional training and mentorship.Education and Certifications:Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.Admission to the California State Bar.Skills:Legal research and writing proficiency.Contract preparation and negotiation skills.Effective communication and client management abilities.Problem-solving and analytical thinking.Self-motivation and proactive approach to work.Collaboration and teamwork.Adaptability to changing legal landscapes and client needs.Job Location: Irvine, CA This California firm was founded in 1979 and focuses on employment, labor, construction, education, real estate, general business and business litigation, corporate, taxation, bankruptcy, and immigration.
