Executive Pastor Overview This position requires a strategic, collaborative leadership style that helps release the Lead Pastor to greater attention on vision, preaching, and tending to the Kingdom-Based ministry needs within the congregation and community. This position requires strong organizational and interpersonal skills, a deep commitment to the church's mission, and the ability to work collaboratively with the pastoral team and congregation to execute vision and projects. Pastoral Ministry and Leadership Development: Provide counseling and prayer to attendees as a Pastor on staff responsible for the spiritual well-being of the congregation. Assist with weddings, funerals, and baptisms. Work closely with the pastoral team to foster a collaborative and supportive ministry environment for the staff to thrive. Oversee, develop, and implement leadership development that grows staff's skills to empower impact in the community beyond the church. Visions Systems Implementation: Work alongside the Lead Pastor and directional team in developing and executing the 10-year vision through strategic initiatives. Responsible for the development and implementation of the church's yearly strategic plan. Clarify and effectively communicate the vision and direction of the church and ensure all ministries are strategically aligned with that vision and direction. Assist in setting goals and objectives to enhance the overall effectiveness of the church's ministries. Operational Oversight: Provide strategic leadership and oversight to the day-to-day operations of the church. Collaborate with department heads to ensure effective implementation of ministry initiatives. Oversee church ministries by designing and maintaining organizational structure across all ministry areas. Serve as an advisor to the Church Board and attend meetings as required. Oversee Facilities: Responsible for the upkeep of the facilities through the facilities and maintenance staff and volunteers. Oversee Finances: Work with the Business Administrator to provide oversight and direction to the budgeting process and financial accountability. Oversee Human Resources: Work with the Business Administrator responsible for payroll, on/off-boarding employees, benefits administration, and maintaining employee manual policies. Oversee Security Team: Responsible for the security of the campus through our security staff and volunteers and maintaining training and best practices. Our security interfaces with the greater community and is seen as a compassionate ministry that provides safety for all people. Business and Community Relations Establish connections with local contractors and businesses. Develop a network within the community to assist and support the church's work. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Five years of Executive Pastor/Church Administrator or comparable experience is required. Minimum Bachelors degree in a related field Thrives in a second in command role Experienced Project Manager Ability to think Big and Small. Ability to adapt and work efficiently in a rapidly changing dynamic environment with deadline pressures Ability to effectively apply analytical and problem-solving skills Leader-of-leaders who can not only deliver the vision but create unity that people willingly follow Proven ability to build rapport and develop strong relationships with leaders Proven history of discipling relationships. Track record of reliability and dependability, and conscientious work habits Ministry Passion Essentials Our Compassion Outreach, Monday Night Mana, Hope Center, and the Free Market are essential Desert Vineyard ministries and vital to the community's needs. We find joy and purpose in caring for the needs of our community in practical ways. Those who benefit from these services are as much a part of our church as those who attend on Sundays. Whoever comes onto our staff must have a passion to care for the needs of our community in practical ways . This work can be raw and messy; however, we believe this is Kingdom work and the place Jesus would be. We are a Vineyard church. We are living in the now and the not yet of the kingdom of God and are participants and witnesses to the transformational work of Jesus Christ. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age. The Christians's role is to make disciples of Jesus Christ in a way that multiplies and continues to reproduce. When we pour our lives into another purpose for their growth in Jesus Christ, we are fullfilling the Great Commission. We know we have discipled well when the person we discipled is discipling someone else. This role requires a commitment to personal discipleship practices as well as a commitment to creating a reproducing disciples organization. Ephesians 4:11 : So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, 12 to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up As church leadership, Christ has called each of us to the role of equipping his people to do the ministry. We, as staff, do not do the ministry but equip, empower, and release people to be the ministry within and without the church.
