Description Under the direction of the U.S. Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR) Vice President, and in alignment with the U.S. Market Access Department, the Executive Director ensures that the HEOR Value Demonstration Team (VDT) is a strategic partner to U.S. Marketing and U.S. Clinical Development and Medical Affairs for product development in the U.S. Market. The VDT is accountable for developing the scientific and payer evidence strategies to support product adoption (formulary) decisions and payer coverage (benefit design) policies across the product lifecycle and executing against those strategies to ensure appropriate access and use of BI products. This position also is accountable for developing materials for use by Field HEOR to communicate the clinical and economic value of BI products. Duties & Responsibilities Lead the HEOR VDT Teams across all therapeutic areas in the development and execution of US HEOR evidence generation strategies (including comparative effectiveness research) and outcomes-based contracting for demonstrating the value of BI products, and ensure teams provide input to brand plans, scientific platforms and publication strategies to support brand value propositions. Lead HEOR Value Demonstration and Translation Team staff in a goal driven, customer-oriented manner with emphasis on quality deliverables, timeliness and compliance to budget. Drive the incorporation of HEOR value endpoints/ evidence requirements of US decision-makers in global clinical development programs and global Market Access strategies through collaboration with U.S. Pipeline Marketing, U.S. Brand Marketing, US CDMA and Global Market Access across all therapeutic areas. Select and/or develop/validate patient reported health outcomes measures for integration into clinical trials. Oversee the development of quality/performance measurement strategies that supports uptake/eliminates access barriers across all BI products. Oversee the Value Demonstration Team contribution to development of HEOR Informatics modules for disease state analyses and HEIM analyses across all therapeutic areas. Engage and collaborate with Executive Director, HEOR Field Team to ensure the Value Demonstration, Translation and Field teams are collaborating and optimizing the development, implementation and effective communication of therapeutic area and product-specific HEOR tools and materials for use by field-based teams in customer interactions. Ensure all HEOR Value Demonstration Teams actively participate in and collaborate with U.S. and Global matrix teams (i.e., Brand Marketing, CDMA, Pipeline Marketing, Pricing, Contracting, Managed Markets, Global Market Access, Global Epidemiology) to ensure strategically aligned HEOR input/support for internal decision-making during the development (Phase I, II and III) and commercialization process. Ensure BIPI and BI Global RWE generation policies, processes and infrastructure optimally support market access across the product portfolio. Recruit, train, direct, develop and motivate HEOR Value Demonstration and Translation Team staff at the Director, Associate Director and Manager levels. Collaborate with HEOR Leadership Team in the development, implementation, and management of processes and high quality training programs for optimizing departmental operations and staff development. Drives collaboration with internal colleagues (e.g., brand teams, Managed Markets Marketing, legal, regulatory affairs, CDMA, GAPP, etc.) in development and ever greening of collateral materials and programs derived from HEOR value demonstration activities to assure that completed materials appropriately resonate with target audiences. Oversees HEOR Translation Team in development of all customer-facing materials and tools for disease state / burden of illness, clinical product information according to the Package Insert, HEOR value propositions, Quality strategies, disease management, informatics programs and outcomes-based contracting; and in management of external agencies for, MLR process for, training of HEOR Field team on and maintenance of all HEOR customer-facing materials. Requirements PhD from an accredited institution in a relevant discipline (health services research, epidemiology, etc.) OR a Doctoral degree from an accredited institution in a clinical discipline (Medicine, Pharmacy) and a Masters degree from an accredited institution in a relevant discipline with demonstrated payer / health system research capabilities. A minimum of ten (10) years payer research experience and five (5) years of pharmaceutical experience. Four (4) to six (6) years leadership and project management experience. Demonstrated ability to lead strategically. Ability to view HEOR research from both a scientific and business perspective is a priority. Deep functional expertise in HEOR Research as well as leadership. Ability to interact and strategize with key leadership and stakeholders across the business. Follow and comply with all compliance laws and regulations. Compensation Data This position offers a base salary typically between $200,000.00 and $347,000.00. The position may be eligible for a role specific variable or performance based bonus and or other compensation elements.
