Looking for an excellent role model, diverse with creative thoughts, and creating excellent experiences. Will work with a team of counselors to create a great camp Coast experience. Need to be available for all ten weeks of camp, as well as staff training time prior to camp. Job Summary: To maintain safety of the participants, develop and implement daily program schedule, lesson plans, and activities, oversee the ESE assistant & volunteers, coordinate programs such as music, swimming, horseback riding, and field trips and to give daily feedback to the families of the participants. Education, Training and Experience: Research shows that some candidates apply only if they meet all of the job criteria. If you have passion and intelligence, even if you are missing some of the below requirements, we encourage you to apply to further discuss your skill set. Must be at least 18 years old. Must demonstrate the ability to teach a special needs class and have prior experience either teaching classes or working directly with special needs population. Bachelor's degree required. Must hold a current ESE teaching certificate, CPR/AED and First Aid preferred. Special Skills or Equipment Required: Must be able to articulate and communicate effectively while instructing participants about camp activities. Must have a positive attitude and ability to work independently. Physical and/or Mental Requirements: Must have the ability and patience to instruct classes while using effective communication and human relation skills. Must have the ability to conduct, demonstrate and safely lead a classroom. Must have the ability to lift 15 pounds in equipment. Job Responsibilities Follows YUSA Training guidelines. Prepare classroom for students prior to class. * Responsible for providing instructional curriculum. * Takes responsibility for certain housekeeping duties. Create a nurturing and safe environment by reporting suspicious activity that may lead to child abuse or may violate the code of conduct. Keep supplies organized, maintain and clean facility and care for equipment. * Exercises sound judgment in relationship to class safety.
