POSITION SUMMARY Jireh Semiconductor is offering a paid Equipment Engineering Internship in the area of Thin Films. This is intended to be a three-month internship spanning the summer of 2023. It will be on site at our Hillsboro, OR facility. We are looking for a passionate, driven Engineering student who would like the opportunity to learn more about the Semiconductor Manufacturing Industry. The Equipment Engineering Intern will work closely with other TF Equipment Engineers to learn about the job and help improve the area. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Shadow/receive mentorship from a current Jireh TF Equipment Engineer Learn about wafer fabrication equipment repair and maintenance Learn about the Thin Films processes to help understand what is needed to repair and maintain the tools. Work independently, under supervision, on a project to support the TF Equipment Engineering team with their goals This project will be designed by your mentor to both add value to the organization and allow you to gain experience in the Semiconductor industry. PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORK ENVIRONMENT This job required a lot of walking and standing. It also requires you to work in class 100 clean room. You will be required to wear clean room garb (mask, bouffant, booties, and suit). You will be asked to face technical challenges and perform in a high pressure mass production facility. REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE Majoring in an Engineering discipline (Mechanical or Electrical preferred) Undergraduate and graduate students will both be considered Preference will be given to those attending school in Oregon OTHER QUALIFICATIONS Strong Microsoft Excel skills required Strong written and verbal communication skills required Strong ownership and passion for success Ability to work independently and as part of a team Ability to use hand tools would be helpful, but not required Ability to read schematics and use a DVM would be beneficial, but not required Ability to use model based problem solving is a plus About Jireh Semiconductor: COMPANY INFORMATION: Alpha and Omega Semiconductor (AOS) is committed to excellence in design, manufacturing, and responsiveness to our customers through the continued development of new technologies, products and innovative solutions.
